<p>Program: Master of Arts in Psychology (MAP)</p> <p>Classification: Full time Faculty</p> <p>Reports to: Chair, Master of Arts in Psychology (MAP) Program & Director of Clinical Training Office</p> <p>Location: Antioch University Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA (in-person, campus based)</p> <p>Start Date : January 2, 2026</p> <p>Compensation: Antioch University offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes both direct and indirect pay. The compensation will be based on experience, education, knowledge, credentials, and a consideration of the difficulty and complexity of the position. The starting salary for this position based on residential location, is: $69,300.00</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy (CPT) at Antioch University invites applications for a unique dual-role, in-person position as a Full-Time Clinical Faculty member and support for the Clinical Training Office (CTO) in the Masters of Psychology Program (MAP). Clinical Faculty train prospective Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Clinical Counselors for licensure under the California state Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). As a member of the MA in Clinical Psychology program's team and under supervision of the Chair, Clinical Faculty members support student learning through scheduled University course instruction and related student advisement. Clinical Faculty responsibilities may include but are not limited to teaching, advising, and assisting in curriculum development within the program.</p> <p>Clinical Faculty provide essential leadership to students in MAP and Antioch University Los Angeles by providing excellent academic instruction and a supportive, inclusive classroom and university community environment. Clinical Faculty are expected to be leaders in their field with appropriate content expertise and knowledge of teaching methods combined with practical experience teaching adult graduate students.</p> <p>Clinical Training Office support includes developing clinical training preparation materials and processes, facilitating trainee site placement, overseeing graduate students' clinical training, serving as a liaison with sites, and supporting students with fulfilling BBS documentation requirements to facilitate successful and timely graduation. Clinical Faculty are responsible for developing the program's clinical training component, including development and oversight of the program's core clinical skills classes.</p> <p>Demonstrated competence in multicultural psychology clinical training requirements leading to Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) and Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) California licensure and any of the following areas is highly desired: cultural competence and foundational theories in clinical practice, family systems, child development and psychotherapy, addiction and recovery, trauma studies, research methodology, psychological assessment, psychopathology, and/or clinical supervision and practicum.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The primary responsibilities for this full-time Clinical Faculty position include 36 credits of direct instruction with course release for CTO admin responsibilities in discussion with chair. Additional expectations of service to university, school and program with specific Clinical Training Office responsibilities that include:</p> <ul> <li>Mentors and advises students in clinical training within the program. </li><li>Confers with students on practicum placements and collaborates with external sites. </li><li>Oversees graduate student clinical training and placements. </li><li>Plays a major role in the practicum orientation process. </li><li>Coordinates aspects of practicum site placements; develops new external sites; maintains contact with sites and clinical supervisors serving as university liaison, consults with supervisors and sites to assure compliance with ethical and professional standards and training guidelines. </li><li>Coordinates open houses, traineeship fairs, consortium meetings and community building activities, and oversees all documentation related to clinical training. </li><li>Maintains current knowledge of relevant regulations and California licensing laws. </li><li>Develops documents as necessary, coordinates MOUs with placement sites, reviews supervisor evaluations and student self-evaluations. </li><li>The position involves administrative coordination, including updating training manuals in consultation with the Chair </li><li>Additional activities in support of student learning include supporting new and continuing faculty teaching clinical skills and practicum courses. Meets as needed with instructors to review course requirements, the importance of providing student feedback, and the overall importance of clinical suitability benchmarks. </li><li>Institutional citizenship activities involve reviews of new student applications and interviews with candidates; departmental initiatives such as curriculum development; and service on campus, school and/or university wide committees. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Earned doctorate in marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Those with a master's degree in the same fields with extensive professional experience may also qualify for appointment. </li><li>California licensure as LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or Psychologist required. </li><li>3 or more years professional experience in a leadership/administrative role in a clinical setting required. </li><li>1+ years of experience in teaching in graduate school settings required. </li><li>Experience as clinical supervisor in comparable clinical setting recommended. </li><li>Experience in working with adult students and a diverse faculty and student body with strong multicultural competencies recommended. </li><li>Experience in technology mediated education and information literacy recommended. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and independently, meet goals in a timely manner and be a positive member of the Antioch University community. </li><li>A strong commitment and understanding of the university mission and student-centered learning, especially adult learners and non-traditional students. </li></ul> <p>The University</p> <p>Antioch University has been continuously accredited with the Higher Learning Commission since 1927, and is a multi-campus, coast-to-coast institution of higher learning that provides learner-centered education to empower students with the knowledge and skills to lead meaningful lives and to advance social, racial, economic, and environmental justice.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Voluntary Health, dental and vision plan and flexible spending account options; employer retirement plan contribution of 6%; voluntary salary deduction to a pre-tax or post-tax retirement account; employer paid life insurance and short term disability; voluntary supplemental life insurance, long-term disability, accidental death/dismemberment, critical illness, and accident coverage plans; 12 days per year sick leave (carry-over up to 65 days); tuition remission for employees and dependents at Antioch University campuses; and employee paid options with AFLAC, LegalShield, and Liberty Mutual.
