<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Careers at DPH: Work that makes a difference!</p> <p>Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Operations Section Director of the Bureau of Emergency Preparedness and Response, serve as the State Medical Equipment Power Shelter (MEPS) Manager to provide programmatic oversight of the South Carolina MEPS program and provide programmatic guidance to subordinate MEPS Coordinators representing the state's geographic areas.</p> <p>Lead the overall coordination of the State's MEPS program, to include:</p> <ul> <li>Providing support and expertise in MEPS development, sustainment, and logistics. </li><li>Developing and sustaining MEPS plans, annexes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). </li><li>Developing MEPS-specific training within the Agency. </li><li>Serving as liaison for MEPS among sheltering workgroups, committees, coalitions, etc. </li><li>Promulgate plans and SOPs related to MEPS functions among agency staff, State Emergency Response Team (SERT) partner agencies, and emergency managers. </li><li>Providing guidance to subordinate MEPS Coordinators regarding above referenced activities. </li></ul> <p>Guide and assist partners and stakeholders in establishing new MEPS locations to meet the needs of MEPS customers by working with new and existing partners.</p> <p>In close coordination with Training, Exercise, and Engagement staff, develop MEPS Tabletop, Functional, and Full-scale exercises.</p> <p>Meet regularly with program partners, internally and externally, to ensure timeliness and fidelity of contracts, memoranda of understanding/agreement, or similar to ensure the agency's ability to respond to events requiring MEPS activation.</p> <p>As directed, satisfactorily completes other duties as may be assigned by Section or Bureau Director, which may be outside of the MEPS area and which may be local or statewide in scope.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.</p> <p>Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.</p> <p>Agency Additional Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant experience in emergency planning, operational planning, health and human service delivery, or other related duties. Recent (within past 5 years) completion of IS100, 200, 700, 800; IS/G300, G108; and G418. All must be completed per agency policy timeline for courses outlined in policy, or within one year of assignment for courses not specifically outlined in agency policy.</p> <p>Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.</p> <p>Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application may upload an unofficial copy of the transcript as an attachment to the application.
