<p>Summary</p> <p>$5,000 Sign-On Bonus!!!</p> <p>Now Hiring: 2 Advanced Practice Clinical Dietitian Educators</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Advanced Practice Clinical Diet Educator reports to the Director, Manager, or Supervisor of Clinical Nutrition and is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, and evaluating orientation, continuing education, and in-service programs for dietitians. This role ensures standardization of educational activities across the organization and stays up to date on the latest developments in dietetics, including dialysis, critical care, medical-surgical nutrition, behavioral health, pediatrics, pregnancy, eating disorders, and malnutrition. Be on their team. </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Education & Training</p> <ul> <li>Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates orientation and continuing education programs for dietitians and clinical nutrition staff. </li><li>Develops and updates training materials, policies, and procedures in collaboration with department leadership. </li><li>Provides education on updates, best practices, and regulatory requirements (TJC, CMS, ISDH) for dietitians, nurses, and providers. </li><li>Acts as the primary educational resource for clinical nutrition staff, offering in-person and on-call support. </li><li>Manages onboarding, training, mentoring, and ongoing professional development of clinical nutrition associates and dietetic interns. </li><li>Serves as the lead educational resource for accreditation readiness and survey preparedness. </li></ul> <p>Clinical Support & Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)</p> <ul> <li>Provides inpatient and outpatient dietitian coverage, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed. </li><li>Ensures all dietitians practice to the full extent of their licensure/registration, following CDR/AND standards. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Maintains and updates educational standards within the clinical nutrition department. </li><li>Obtains or maintains advanced certifications (e.g., CNSC, CDCES, AP-RD). </li><li>Participates in department meetings, interdisciplinary committees, and hospital-wide initiatives. </li><li>Completes all regulatory and compliance requirements, including annual competencies and training. </li></ul> <p>Organizational Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintains Licensure & Certifications: Ensures all required credentials remain in good standing. </li><li>Follows Hospital Policies & Safety Protocols: Adheres to infection control, universal precautions, and ergonomic safety measures. </li><li>Demonstrates Commitment to Excellence: Supports Beacon Health's six-point operating system: </li><li>Leverage innovation </li><li>Cultivate human talent </li><li>Embrace performance improvement </li><li>Build accountability </li><li>Use data-driven decision-making </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition required. </li><li>Master's degree preferred (required for all new dietitians per CDR/AND as of 2024). </li><li>Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience (instruction, program development, ICU experience preferred). </li><li>Advanced certification required within 1-2 years of hire (e.g., CNSC, CDCES, CSO, AP-RD). </li></ul> <p>Skills & Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of adult education principles and training program development. </li><li>Leadership skills to mentor and guide clinical nutrition staff. </li><li>Excellent analytical skills to develop and assess training programs. </li><li>Exceptional communication and presentation skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Frequent interaction with staff, patients, physicians, and leadership. </li><li>May require travel between facilities (MHSB, EGH, TRH, CHB) as needed. </li><li>Exposure to biohazards in clinical settings. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must have the physical ability and stamina to perform essential job functions. </li></ul>
