<p>Compensation Range</p> <p>$23.14 - $29.31</p> <ul> <li>- </li></ul> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>Performs a variety of confidential office duties requiring special terminology and considerable exercise of independent judgment.</p> <p>The ideal candidate for the Public Health Office Technician III position is a well-organized and reliable professional with strong experience handling complex administrative and clerical tasks in a busy, confidential public health clinic setting. They are skilled in writing, editing, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Weld County Public Health serves a diverse community and clientele, offering a wide range of medical clinic services tailored to meet the needs of our low-income populations. The ideal candidate must be able to interact and communicate effectively with our clients to ensure they feel heard and supported. Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.</p> <p>This person is confident in managing schedules, preparing materials, and taking accurate phone calls. They are comfortable using computers, office equipment, and programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as software used in health or legal work. They understand public health rules and policies and respond to questions clearly and professionally.</p> <p>As a team player and leader, they help train new staff, support coworkers, and check work for accuracy. They also have experience with basic accounting, data entry, and preparing reports to help with planning and decision-making.</p> <p>Most importantly, the ideal candidate is dependable, respectful, and communicates well with coworkers, the public, and partner organizations. They stay ahead of problems, keep their supervisor informed, and support the department's goals with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.</p> <ul> <li>- </li></ul> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Job Functions</p> <p>Office Operations - 95%</p> <ul> <li>Performs complex duties; types documents, correspondence, reports, case file cards utilizing technical terminology and composition skills requiring accuracy and completeness; coordinates plans and project activities. </li><li>Transcribes and composes a variety of confidential documents and correspondence. </li><li>Schedules appointments, meetings, and conferences; gathers related documentation for distribution at meetings; takes and transcribes minutes and notes at hearings, meetings and conferences as required, at times requiring use of technical terminology. </li><li>May act as liaison for department with other County offices, agencies, and the public. Establishes and maintains filing systems, pulling files, updating, and replacing them as needed. </li><li>Keeps informed of new laws and ordinances; answers inquiries from departments and the public regarding resolutions, community projects, and special projects, and special programs requiring considerable exercise of independent judgement. </li><li>Assists lower-level personnel in performing and coordinating their work as required; trains new staff members; and reviews completed work and recommends changes to ensure accuracy and completeness. </li><li>Operates a variety of office equipment including computer terminal and/or personal computer; able to operate variety of software programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other process-specific programs. Types and transcribes dictation using transcribing equipment; transcribes medical reports, legal orders, opinions, and letters; attends meetings and records minutes or notes. </li><li>Performs moderately complex accounting work; receives and verifies information from various sources and enters data into ledgers and other records. Prepares statistical reports and produces financial information as directed. </li><li>Professionally interacts with peers and the public in person-to-person setting, via telephone, and all electronic methods. </li><li>Communicates current and anticipated problems to superior. </li><li>Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, professionals, agencies, and the public. </li></ul> <p>Division Support - 5%</p> <ul> <li>Assists supervisor in the division with carrying out delegated responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Required for All Jobs</p> <ul> <li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Complies with all policies and standards. </li><li>- </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma / GED or equivalent with coursework in general office and accounting procedures, business practices, and technical terminology as it relates to the position. </li><li>3 years experience in an increasingly responsible position in an office setting. </li><li>Have and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license and use of personal, insured vehicle is required to perform job duties. Dependable transportation and auto insurance, always maintained, as required by State law, is required. </li><li>Must pass a criminal background check. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>This position is non- exempt compensation to determine FLSA status from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act.</p> <p>As an applicant for this position, you should be aware of Senate Bill 19-085, the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
