To find out more visit www.lenovo.com, and read about the latest news via our StoryHub.</p> <p>Description and Requirements</p> <p>About Our Team</p> <p>We are looking for a Release Engineering Lead with experience managing CI/CD systems, scaling automated build pipelines and handling cross-platform release packaging. This role will have heavy cross-functional collaboration with development, product, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery across Windows, Android and embedded platforms.</p> <p>We recently introduced Qira, our new cross-device Personal AI that works seamlessly across Lenovo and Motorola products. More information can be found here: [1] https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/press-releases/lenovo-unveils-lenovo-and-motorola-qira/</p> <p>Location: Chicago, IL, Hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote)</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Own and manage release pipelines across Windows, Android, and embedded platforms. </li><li>Coordinate build, packaging, signing, and deployment workflows to ensure consistent, repeatable releases. </li><li>Oversee CI/CD automation, including continuous integration, daily builds, artifact generation, and release validation. </li><li>Partner with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to define release criteria, timelines, and readiness checkpoints. </li><li>Ensure proper versioning, branching, tagging, and artifact management across all release streams. </li><li>Monitor build health, triage failures, and drive resolution of release-blocking issues. </li><li>Maintain release documentation, change logs, and compliance artifacts for audit and traceability. </li><li>Support cross-platform productization, including installer creation, OTA packaging, and platform-specific delivery workflows. </li><li>Improve release processes through automation, tooling enhancements, and workflow optimization. </li><li>Coordinate release approvals, sign-offs, and communication across global teams. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. </li><li>10+yrs of Experience owning release pipelines across Windows, Android and embedded platforms. </li><li>8+yrs of Experience serving as a Release Engineering leader, owning release processes and impact. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>10+yrs of Experience managing CI/CD systems for enterprise deployments. </li><li>5+yrs of Experience productizing software for consumer devices. </li><li>2+yrs of Experience defining secure build pipelines, code-signing and compliance workflows. </li><li>Proven background in cross-platform release engineering as an engineer. </li><li>Experience with Jira and similar tools for release tracking and reporting. </li><li>Experience automating release notes, changelog generation and release dashboards. </li><li>Experience managing cross-functional communication across different levels of the organization. </li><li>Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills: operates with priority in mind. </li><li>Ability to document, communicate, and escalate issues in a timely way. </li><li>Cultural Competency working across Chinese, Desi, American, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact. </li><li>Experience supporting development of LLM-based or Agentic AI systems a plus. </li><li>Master's degree or higher in a relevant field is a plus. </li></ul> <p>The base salary budgeted range for this position is $200-225k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
