The fellow will contribute to projects focused on understanding fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation, cell signaling, and molecular pathogenesis. This position offers opportunities to develop an independent research portfolio, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and gain experience in mentoring students.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline (degree must be completed by start date). </li><li>Minimum of four years of laboratory research experience (including doctoral training). </li><li>Demonstrated productivity through publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. </li><li>Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills. </li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative academic community. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Mammalian and bacterial cell culture techniques. </li><li>Core molecular biology and genetics approaches: PCR, gel electrophoresis, nucleic acid isolation, cloning, DNA/RNA transfection. </li><li>Functional assays such as RNA silencing, microRNA analysis, and immunoprecipitation. </li><li>Flow cytometry and protein expression analysis. </li><li>Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies (e.g., Ion Torrent or equivalent). </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time:</p> <p>80% Perform molecular biology experiments</p> <p>10% Oral presentation of research results</p> <p>5% Assist in training graduate students</p> <p>5% Written preparation of research results</p> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions</p> <p>Standard molecular biology laboratory conditions.</p> <p>Grant funded position with continuation dependent on funding.</p> <p>Special Contract terms and condition of employment apply.</p> <p>To preserve the safety and security of the campus community and to maintain the integrity of university operations, it is the policy of Wright State University before making an employment offer at the final stage to verify whether a job applicant has a criminal record.
