As part of the special education department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and functional needs of our students through effective occupational therapy interventions. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and activities of daily living.Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other members of the IEP team.Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, to address identified needs and promote skill development.Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and compliance with IEP goals.Participate actively in IEP meetings, providing expertise and input regarding students' occupational therapy needs and progress.Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, speech therapists, and counselors, to support students' academic and functional success. Qualifications: Civil Service Eligibility (Reachable on Current Occupational Therapist Exam List)Graduation from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational TherapyCurrent License as an Occupational Therapist issued by the New York State Department of EducationExperience working with elementary school-aged children, preferably in a school-based setting.
