The employee is expected to perform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrate leadership qualities, and treat all staff, youth, and persons with respect. This is a demanding position that requires maturity, reliability, and self-discipline. Career growth and advancement are encouraged through training and mentoring opportunities.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises Youth Worker Supervisors and oversees development of Individual Treatment Plans on youth. </li><li>Responsible for ensuring staff formulate and implement appropriate treatment plans. </li><li>Transports residents to local and statewide medical and court related appointments and appearances. </li><li>Works closely with superintendent and other administrative staff. </li><li>Interviews, recommends and orients prospective new employees. </li><li>Conducts employee performance evaluations. </li><li>Ensures cabinet, department, division and facility policies and procedures are available to staff. Ensures employees have in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures. </li><li>Participates in management of program. </li><li>Prepares and participates in management team meetings </li><li>Reviews, compiles and prepares reports and records. </li><li>Drafts correspondence as required. </li></ul> <p>This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations by the Appointing Authority; therefore the incumbent is not eligible for Adverse Weather Leave.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12-21) in a community setting, day treatment, group home, detention, residential, or correctional facility.</p> <p>Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE</p> <p>Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12-21) in a community setting, day treatment, group home, detention, military, residential, or correctional facility will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
