<p>Job Summary: Under general supervision, installs, maintains, repairs, and services water distribution facilities.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assists with installation and repair of water lines and mains </li><li>Assists with installation of new service taps </li><li>Assists with line locates as needed </li><li>Assists with joining and fitting of pipelines and valves </li><li>Assists with repair of fire hydrants, valves, and individual service connections </li><li>Assists with maintenance of pumps, lift stations, water towers and associated equipment </li><li>Assists in the preparation of reports concerning work progress and other reports as assigned by the foreman or superintendent </li><li>Maintains safe work environment through continual observance of procedures and safety awareness </li><li>Maintains cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility by way of mowing; weed eating, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep. </li><li>On an as needed basis performs traffic control, repairs street and sidewalks, notifies customers of service interruptions, and collects water samples. </li><li>Notifies customers when assigned work affects service </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or GED </li><li>Possession of or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire: o Class "D" ODEQ Waterworks Operator certification </li><li>Possession of or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire o Class "B" or higher Commercial Driver License (Acquisition of CDL is an automatic upgrade to Maintenance Technician Level I) </li><li>Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies </li><li>Knowledge of proper safety procedures related grounds maintenance </li><li>Knowledge of proper constructions methods and techniques, including the proper use and placement of traffic control devices </li><li>Skill in oral and written communication </li><li>Ability to work with hand tools and small equipment </li><li>Ability to work with motorized vehicles and equipment </li><li>Ability to be reached during off hours in the event of an emergency </li><li>Ability to read construction drawings, land plats, maps and other diagrams </li></ul> <p>Competitive Benefits Package</p> <p>11 paid holidays per year 10 paid sick leave days per year 10 paid vacation leave days per year (increases with years of service - up to 20 days) 2 fitness facilities for employees Pension plan Longevity Pay Employee Assistance Program Short/Long Term Disability Basic Life & AD&D Employee-Only Base Dental (Employer pays a portion of Dental Family) 3 Healthcare Plans - Employer pays 75% of the base plan premium or the base plan equivalent for the other tiers Case Community Center membership Discounted fishing pass at Shell Lake Discounted golf at Canyons at Blackjack Ridge Utility discount for employees who live within the Sand Springs water district.
