We develop innovative policies and services that impact Central Florida and shape the future of our community.</p> <p>The Professional On Call at Fire Rescue performs responsible work with limited supervision, specializing in the invoicing of a variety of commodities, service, supplies, and equipment for Orange County Fire and Rescue. Work involves communicating with department staff, vendors and other Orange County divisions including Finance and Procurement on purchasing, receiving, shipping, invoicing problems and reviewing requisitions.</p> <p>Position provides limited weekly and annual work hours and offers schedule flexibility. Scheduling conducted by the respective site supervisor in conjunction with the employee's availability.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Representative Duties/Assignments</p> <ul> <li>Possess and maintain reliable work habits. </li><li>Ability to use a computer terminal for data entry with a high degree of accuracy. </li><li>Ability to reliably initiate and complete work assignments/projects. </li><li>Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, and the public. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with peers, managers, and the public, on both individual and group levels. </li><li>Familiarity with office practices, procedures, and equipment (e.g, copiers, calculators, faxes, multi-line telephones, voice mail, and electronic mail).Orange County staff regarding purchasing matters. </li><li>Reviews and monitors expenditures and make suggestions for budget expenditures and transfers. </li><li>Assists in the development of the specifications for Invitation for Bid process; review sole source and emergency purchases.
