We are a career destination with over 6,000 colleagues who reflect the diversity of our community.</p> <p>TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only:</p> <ul> <li>Level II Trauma Center </li><li>Primary Stroke Center </li><li>Level III Neonatal Intensive Care </li><li>Pediatric Intensive Care </li><li>The most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. </li></ul> <p>Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.</p> <p>HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT</p> <p>Your Role:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible directly and indirectly for the patient care environment. </li><li>Provides care collaboratively with health care team members and autonomously applying the nursing process; leads, mentors, role models for other health care team members. </li><li>Coordinates and delegates care in a safe, secure, and clean environment. </li><li>Uses evidence-based practice and information technologies (while maintaining focus on providing comfort, relieving pain, and alleviating anxiety) to assist in diagnostic and interventional peripheral vascular, minor surgical procedures (e.g., interventional neurovascular and pain management procedures, chemo-embolizations, yttrium-90 (Y-90) radio-embolizations, abscess drain placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, kyphoplasties, vertebroplasties, gastrostomy tube (g-tube) placements, nephrostomy tube placements, inferior vena cava (IVC) filter insertions and removals, trans-jugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPSS) placements, trans-jugular liver biopsies, sclerotherapies, Pleurx placements, cholecystostomy drains, and biliary drains). </li><li>Displays respect for patients' rights, dignity, values, confidentiality, and expressed needs in provided care. </li><li>Demonstrates an understanding of diversity. </li><li>Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values). </li><li>Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. </li><li>Performs other duties. </li></ul> <p>Reports To: RN [Registered Nurse]/Director Surgical Services (JC: 031701)</p> <p>Supervises: None</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY</p> <p>Required Education</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>One (1) year of emergency room (ER), intensive care unit (ICU), or step-down unit (SDU) registered nursing experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) or more years of ER, ICU, or SDU registered nursing experience. </li><li>Critical care (e.g., ER and/or ICU) nursing experience. </li><li>Interventional vascular experience. </li></ul> <p>Required Certification/License/Registry</p> <ul> <li>Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure]. </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification and from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC). </li></ul> <p>Preferred Certification/License/Registry</p> <ul> <li>Critical Care Register Nurse (CCRN) credential from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). </li><li>Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). </li><li>National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification from the AHA. </li><li>Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
