<p>Purpose of Position:</p> <ul> <li>To obtain all necessary information from both inpatients and outpatients to initiate treatment and billing by completing data entry and clinical information into the registration system. </li><li>The registration department is the front door to this hospital and the patient registrar must provide professional, efficient, quality customer service. </li></ul> <p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Enter and/or verify all information into Medipac registration system </li><li>Verify eligibility for all insurances utilizing electronic verification systems </li><li>Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire for every Medicare patient </li><li>Screen all Medicare outpatient lab patients for medical necessity </li><li>Offer financial assistance and do quick financial screening application for all uninsured patients </li><li>Enter admissions for any ED admission </li><li>Update departed emergency patients </li><li>Tear down and assemble ED record </li><li>Contact AultWorks for any workman's compensation patient </li><li>Memo all pertinent information regarding billing and insurance into Mpac system </li><li>Assure that Medipac System and Cerner system are in sync at all times </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of the following systems: MPAC, Cerner (FirstNet and SugiNet), AultWorks, RevRunner, RQI, Bed Tracking, HealthWorks Compliance Checker </li><li>Follow all hospital and department policies </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, minimum </li><li>Ability to type at least 35 wpm </li><li>Familiarity with medical terminology, useful </li><li>Ability to work calmly and accurately in stressful situations </li><li>Excellent customer service skills </li><li>Professional manner and appearance </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>24/7 coverage </li><li>Every other weekend and every other holiday </li><li>Co-coordinated lunch and break periods </li><li>Close working relations with clinical staff </li><li>Constant walking utilizing Wireless on Wheels computer </li><li>Continual involvement with patients and their families </li><li>Ability to assist patients in wheelchairs and transport if necessary </li><li>Assigned uniforms to be worn at all times </li><li>Blood and body fluid exposure: 3 </li></ul>
