<p>The Student Financial Services Coordinator supports students by providing frontline assistance with student account inquiries, financial aid processes, and evening reception services. This position serves as a cross-functional representative for the Business Office and Financial Aid Office on the Desoto Campus and ensures excellent customer service during extended hours of campus operation. The is a 12-Month staff position reporting to the Assistant Dean of Desoto Center.</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in Business, Office Administration, or related field </li><li>Experience in customer service, finance, or higher education </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office technologies </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Prior experience in financial aid or student account services </li><li>Familiarity with student information systems </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:</p> <p>The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the initial point of contact for students with questions related to student billing, payments, and financial aid. </li><li>Must be able to quickly grasp and retain knowledge of policies and procedures relating to every aspect of student services that a prospective or current student may utilize. </li><li>Assist students with creating and accessing their FSA IDs, completing the FAFSA, and uploading required verification documents. </li><li>Guide students through entrance counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) completion for federal loans. </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student accounts and financial aid documentation. </li><li>Communicate professionally with students, parents, faculty, and staff in person, via phone, and email. </li><li>Process payments, issue receipts, and manage daily cash handling responsibilities. </li><li>Monitor student account balances and help coordinate payment plans when appropriate. </li><li>Serve as the evening receptionist for the campus, answering phones, directing visitors, and supporting faculty/staff needs. </li><li>Assist with evening coverage of student services, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and compliance with FERPA and all federal/state financial aid regulations. </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean and Assistant Dean of Desoto Center. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments </li><li>Commitment to maintaining a student-centered approach and professional demeanor </li><li>Availability to work afternoon and evening shifts </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to do the following:</p> <ul> <li>Communicate with others in person, phone, and via email </li><li>Availability to work afternoon and evening shifts </li><li>Frequently sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms </li><li>Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds </li><li>Must have ability to talk, walk, climb stairs, stand, bend, kneel, and squat </li></ul> <p>APPLICATION</p> <p>To apply, please submit and attach the following:</p> <ul> <li>Application at www.northwestms.edu </li><li>Resume </li><li>Transcript(s) </li><li>Three (3) Professional References: Name, Organization, Email Address and Telephone Number </li></ul>
