<p>Description</p> <p>Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. (TBE) in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a mid level Project Engineer to provide technical leadership, design oversight, and project coordination for complex mechanical and control-system-based equipment used in high-reliability and international monitoring programs, including systems supporting the CTBTO's International Monitoring System.</p> <p>This role focuses on leading and managing engineering efforts, reviewing and guiding mechanical design work, coordinating cross-functional project activities, and supporting system integration and testing. Occasional hands-on design and troubleshooting will be required.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities across design, fabrication, testing, and system integration.</p> <p>Review and oversee fabrication and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards.</p> <p>Ensure tolerance compliance and manufacturability of mechanical components and assemblies.</p> <p>Interpret electrical schematics for system-level integration and troubleshooting.</p> <p>Develop proposals, customer presentations, design specifications, test reports, and documentation packages.</p> <p>Work directly with technicians during system builds to validate specifications and ensure compliance.</p> <p>Participate in customer technical working groups and project review meetings.</p> <p>Estimate labor, track project hours, and coordinate schedules with project managers.</p> <p>Troubleshoot complex systems using sensor data, telemetry, and log files.</p> <p>Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and assist with material tracking during fabrication.</p> <p>Perform additional project engineering duties as assigned.</p> <p>Skills</p> <p>solidworks, Mechanical engineering, autocad</p> <p>Top Skills Details</p> <p>solidworks,Mechanical engineering</p> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications & Requirements</p> <p>Experience with one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>High-purity compressed air systems </li><li>Cryogenic cooling systems </li><li>High-vacuum systems </li><li>Industrial control systems </li><li>Nuclear detection or environmental monitoring equipment </li></ul> <p>Strong mechanical engineering foundation with experience in design oversight, tolerance analysis, and ASME drawing standards.</p> <p>Ability to interpret electrical schematics for integrated system development.</p> <p>Experience coordinating engineering tasks or leading technical project activities.</p> <p>Strong communication and technical writing skills for customer-facing documentation.</p> <p>U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.</p> <p>Willingness to travel approximately ±10% domestically and internationally.</p> <p>Experience Level</p> <p>Intermediate Level</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $78.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
