<p>Kforce's client in Saint Louis is looking for an Invoicing Specialist to support its transportation team during a period of high shipment volume. This is a short-term contract role created to backfill invoicing support after a recent team departure. The focus of this position is invoice auditing and validation, not dispute resolution or contract negotiation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong invoicing or accounting background who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Review and audit ocean freight invoices by matching invoice amounts to internal order and shipment reports </li><li>Approve invoices when amounts match documented rates and shipment data </li><li>Flag invoice discrepancies for escalation to senior team members (no resolution required) </li><li>Audit drayage/trucking invoices by matching final charges to pre-approved transportation costs </li><li>Compare invoice data against EDI information from ocean carriers and trucking partners </li><li>Download and review invoice data using Excel to assist with comparisons and validation </li><li>Support the transportation team with timely and accurate invoice processing* Prior experience with invoice auditing, invoicing, or accounting-related work </li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies </li><li>Basic Excel skills, including downloading spreadsheets and performing simple comparisons </li><li>Ability to work 100% onsite during standard business hours </li><li>Willingness to learn transportation processes and systems as needed </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to transportation, logistics, or supply chain environments </li><li>Familiarity with ocean freight or trucking invoices </li><li>Experience working with invoicing or transportation systems (training provided as needed) </li></ul>
