<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Number 004726 Position Title Groundskeeper II - 004726 Division Finance and Administration Department 173640 - Grounds Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Ability to follow written and oral instructions, one year groundskeeping or related experience and possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Job Description Summary</p> <p>The University of South Alabama's Grounds department is seeking to hire a Groundskeeper II. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>These are the job duties required of the position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Mows and edges lawns. </li><li>Removes grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, weeds, trash and debris from lawns and landscape areas. </li><li>Trims, prunes, and mulches trees, shrubs and flowers. </li><li>Polices grounds and collects, loads, and hauls away trash. </li><li>Applies irrigation water and chemicals to lawns, trees, flowers, and shrubs as needed or directed. </li><li>Digs holes and plants flowers, shrubs, and trees. </li><li>Performs basic fertilization applications on trees and shrubs. </li><li>Operates tools and equipment such as pruner, line trimmer, blower, rake, shovel, push mower, edger, sod cutter, riding mower, tractor-mounted flail/bush hog, hydraulic tree spade, tractor-mounted spreader/sprayer, and high-speed chipper grinder. </li><li>Sweeps streets, driveways and parking lots as needed. </li><li>May be responsible for performing groundskeeping and custodial duties in maintaining a small group of buildings and grounds. </li><li>May be required to operate a motor vehicle to travel to and from work sites or transport materials, including water tanker. </li><li>Maintains and calibrates equipment as required. </li><li>Installs and repairs irrigation systems and guy stakes on trees as needed. </li><li>Regular and prompt attendance. </li><li>Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. </li><li>Related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Posting Information</p> <p>Number of Vacancies 1 Position End Date (if temporary) Job Open Date 05/09/2025 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants Working Days Monday - Friday Working Hours 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Job Location Main Campus Full-time or Part-Time Full Time Regular or Temporary Regular</p>
