<p>Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to ensure the operational availability of advanced 4680 battery cell manufacturing equipment. This role involves applying technical expertise to install, maintain, and repair high-speed, high-volume mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation, and robotics. As a first responder to machine breakdowns, the technician will manage recoveries and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability in a fast-paced, innovative environment.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform preventative maintenance on all industrial production and mechatronic equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and communicate required actions across relevant teams</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct major equipment repairs, rebuilds, and installations</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and maintenance protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Perform corrective maintenance on electrical systems, mechanical systems, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, vision/inspection equipment, or FANUC robots</p> </li><li> <p>Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues or storerooms, and log all work using Tesla CMMS</p> </li><li> <p>Execute additional tasks as directed by management</p> </li><li> <p>Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal</p> </li><li> <p>Three or more years of experience in maintenance on production manufacturing equipment or equivalent training or relevant education</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions</p> </li><li> <p>Experience using volt/multi-meters and interpreting schematic diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems</p> </li><li> <p>Capability to read and interpret detailed mechanical assembly drawings and measure tolerances accurately</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of high-speed precision conveyances using magnetics, belts, rotary dials, and pneumatics</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with pneumatic solenoid valves, actuators, control operations, and reading schematics</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with basic hydraulic and vacuum system operations</p> </li></ul> <p>Essential Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach </li><li>Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day </li><li>Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures </li><li>Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing </li><li>Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines </li></ul>
