<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machines to produce high-quality precision parts. You will ensure equipment runs smoothly, meet strict quality standards, and actively contribute to process improvements.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <p>Machine Operation & Setup</p> <ul> <li>Set up and operate CNC lathe machines. </li><li>Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments based on blueprints and specifications. </li><li>Verify settings through measurements and first-run checks. </li></ul> <p>Quality Assurance</p> <ul> <li>Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T. </li><li>Use measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) to inspect parts. </li><li>Ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and customer specifications. </li></ul> <p>Maintenance & Troubleshooting</p> <ul> <li>Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines. </li><li>Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or control issues. </li><li>Replace worn tools and make necessary corrections to programs or setups. </li></ul> <p>Documentation & Communication</p> <ul> <li>Maintain production and quality logs. </li><li>Report work order status and issues to the supervisor or team lead. </li><li>Participate in training and stay updated on modern technologies and techniques. </li><li>Explore opportunities to increase productivity in work area. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and lathe operation. </li><li>Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T. </li><li>Basic knowledge of math, geometry, and trigonometry. </li><li>Proactive and safety-conscious mindset. </li><li>Willingness to learn and grow within Sun Hydraulics. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED required. </li><li>Technical/vocational training in machining preferred. </li><li>Experience using CNC Lathe machines preferred. </li><li>Experience with Fanuc controls is a plus. </li><li>Experience with Citizen, Swiss, Miyano, or Mazak lathes is highly valued. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. </li><li>Manual dexterity and focus for working with precision tools. </li></ul>
