<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Summer and Extended School Year/ESY Speech Language Pathologist</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>1/10/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District Wide</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>06/26/2025</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Reports To: Executive Director of School & Family Support</p> <p>Performance Evaluation: Annually by Executive Director of Special Services or Designee</p> <p>Terms of Employment: July 7, 2025- August 8, 2025, up to 6 Hours/Day X 20 Days</p> <p>Primary Function: To provide a continuum of comprehensive services for students (3-21) with communication impairments which negatively impact access to the general education curriculum, including diagnostic, remedial, developmental, and consultative assistance.</p> <p>Typical Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>This description of the position of Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct and/or consultative services to students identified with communication disorders/delays </li><li>Provide information to teachers regarding speech/language development, voice, language, hearing, and fluency impairments and in making appropriate referrals </li><li>Assist in proper referrals of students to agencies and specialists as appropriate </li><li>Develop and assist in the implementation of instructional and curricular modifications to accommodate student's communication impairments </li><li>Provide strategies and/or materials that promote communication development to families, classroom teachers, and other professionals for identified students as well as for the general school population </li><li>Provide information and counseling to parents and families regarding the nature of their child's communication impairment and the educational, social, and vocational implications as appropriate </li><li>Collaborate with other professionals to determine the need for assistive technology devices/services </li><li>Collaborate with other professionals in planning, implementing, and monitoring assistive technology devices and programs </li><li>Maintain student and program records, both paper and electronic </li><li>Write reports to indicate progress made or maintained over the summer </li><li>Complete Medicaid billing </li><li>Perform other related tasks as the Director of Special Services or designee may assign </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid State of Connecticut certificate as Speech and Language Pathologist (061) and a valid State of Connecticut Department of Public Health License </li><li>Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) </li><li>Additional qualifications as the New London Board of Education may find appropriate and desirable </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual, Spanish and English </li></ul> <p>New London Public School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
