<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Career and Technical Instructor - Nursing Assistant Program (part-time)</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Economic and Business Development/Business Solutions & Partnerships</p> <p>PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River/Taunton/Attleboro/New Bedford</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Associate Director Nursing Assistant Training</p> <p>POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, non-unit position (some nights and weekends required).</p> <p>SALARY: $40/hr</p> <p>STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>The Business Solutions and Partnerships department is seeking dedicated instructors to teach in the Nursing Assistant Program, with opportunities to also support other Allied Healthcare Programs based on expertise and need. We are currently hiring for both clinical and non-clinical (theory-based) instructional roles.</p> <p>The Nursing Assistant Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that supports both clinical competencies and theoretical knowledge, ensuring students are fully prepared for entry-level positions in the healthcare field. This includes:</p> <ul> <li>Providing engaging instruction aligned with program learning outcomes </li><li>Supporting students' development of technical and professional skills </li><li>Assessing student performance and providing feedback for improvement </li><li>Collaborating with other instructors and program leadership to enhance curriculum and student success </li></ul> <p>This position is part of our response to growing employer demand in the healthcare sector. Instructors must be able to commit to day, evening, and/or weekend shifts, based on mutual scheduling availability. Clear and consistent communication regarding availability is required to ensure instructional continuity and student support.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate effectively in a diverse, inclusive, and student-centered environment, working with students from various cultural backgrounds, learning styles, identities, and life experiences. </li><li>Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and uphold professionalism, consistently applying college policies related to student conduct and performance. </li><li>Deliver curriculum using a variety of engaging and effective teaching methods to promote learning, develop skills, and help students achieve their educational and career goals. </li><li>Integrate technology and active learning strategies into instruction to enhance student engagement and comprehension. </li><li>Ensure all training activities and skill instruction comply with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations (105 CMR 156.000), curriculum, and applicable guidelines. </li><li>Prepare for and deliver instruction in both classroom and clinical settings, including the evaluation of student performance throughout the program. </li><li>Collaborate with the Associate Director to maintain and organize documentation required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. </li><li>Maintain accurate and organized records of student attendance, assessments, progress, and final evaluations. </li><li>Exhibit professionalism and uphold Bristol Community College's core values in all interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members. </li><li>Support the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by implementing equity-minded practices across all job responsibilities. </li><li>Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment that promotes professional development and a commitment to service excellence. </li><li>Provide ongoing academic and professional support to students, both in and outside the classroom. </li><li>Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners and clinical sites to support student learning and program success. </li><li>Collaborate regularly with the Associate Director and instructional team, and attend meetings as required. </li><li>Administer diagnostic tests, quizzes, and assignments to assess and track student learning outcomes. </li><li>Supervise and evaluate nurse assistant students in clinical settings to ensure they meet clinical objectives. </li><li>Oversee the delivery of safe patient care by students in clinical settings, ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices. </li><li>Guide and mentor students in navigating academic programs and accessing support services when needed. </li><li>Encourage and support students in pursuing their long-term educational and career goals. </li><li>Ensure all classroom, lab, and clinical site environments are kept clean, organized, and sanitary. </li><li>Assist in counseling and advising students, emphasizing progress and retention, and communicate regularly with the Associate Director regarding student development. </li><li>Utilize online learning platforms and digital resources confidently as part of the instructional process. </li><li>Contribute to the achievement of program goals and student outcomes through collaborative efforts and instructional excellence. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.</p> <ul> <li>Current Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. </li><li>At least two (2) years of experience in long-term care, including a minimum of one (1) year providing nursing services in a nursing home setting. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in instruction, peer training, or on-the-job mentoring in a healthcare environment. </li><li>Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in lesson planning, instruction, student evaluation, and remediation?ideally in a role such as in-service coordinator or staff educator within a healthcare setting. </li><li>A strong interest in teaching and mentoring the next generation of entry-level healthcare professionals. </li><li>Current AHA BLS Provider CPR Certification required. </li><li>Proficiency with technology and digital tools for instruction, including Zoom, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and internet resources. </li><li>Experience with classroom or team management in educational or clinical settings. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate creativity and flexibility in instructional methods while adhering to the approved curriculum. </li><li>Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Successful completion of a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check is required as a condition of employment. </li><li>Reliable transportation to travel to and from clinical sites, meetings, trainings, and campus or community locations, as needed. </li><li>Availability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as required by the program. </li><li>All positions require appropriate training and/or experience, valid licensure (when applicable), and the ability to work effectively within a diverse academic and professional community. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual or multilingual ability preferred; ability to communicate in a language other than English is highly valued. </li><li>Strong understanding of and demonstrated commitment to access, equity, and student success practices in education. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally. </li><li>Proven ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse student
