<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>The Nutrition Services Trainer within the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) provides nutrition service training to all new and existing professional and paraprofessional staff of the West Virginia WIC Program. Plans and implements training on the subject of policy and procedure as well as best practices related to the certification and eligibility determination of applicants. Manage ongoing nutrition services training to improve the quality of program services through development of relevant virtual and in-person trainings and handouts.. Management of online nutrition education content in the WICSmart application, including assessment of appropriateness of current modules and development of new modules. Provide technical assistance and development of technical resources for situations such as federal and state regulation implementation, policy changes, disaster response, etc. Recommend and provide input on Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) policies and procedures as well as development of new population-based services addressing nutrition security and State Health Improvement Plan strategies. Assist with daily special formula and medical foods requests in conjunction with other ONS Nutritionists.. Travels statewide to provide nutrition training to local agency staff. This may involve overnight travel. Represent ONS at state and national conferences via poster sessions and presentations to highlight innovative strategies and best practices.. Write state reports, design goals and objectives for the annual WIC State Plan relating to nutrition services training quality improvement initiatives. Maintain and develop Chapter 11-Training of the WIC Policy and Procedure Manual. Conducts Crossroads Management Information System, the WIC eligibility determination and benefit issuance system. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in a step-by step process to ensure clinic operations and administrative procedures test cases are completed based on state policies and procedures and Federal Regulations. Daily completes reports and documentation for all the test cases that pass and fail and provides information to Crossroads Testing Coordinator to address problems as well as maintenance and enhancement builds in a timely manner.</p> <p>Click The APPLY Link To Apply Online.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in foods and nutrition, dietetics or public health nutrition; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with twelve (12) hours in nutrition.</p> <p>Experience:Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in nutrition while employed by a health or welfare agency, food clinic, hospital, child development center, school system, nutrition council; teacher of foods or nutrition in an accredited school or college; agent or food and nutrition specialist in the Agricultural Extension Program; or research worker in foods or nutrition.</p> <p>Substitution: Graduation from a Coordinated Undergraduate Program in dietetics, completion of an AP4 Program in nutrition or dietetic internship approved by the American Dietetic Association, or a graduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.</p>
