Apply Today!</p> <p>Job Summary and Qualifications</p> <p>The Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Relations will serve as a crucial link between the health system, local and regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers, and community-based hospitals. Reporting directly to the COO at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, this position serves as an advocate for the hospital with EMS agencies, establish and implement business plans for service-line growth, and enhance operational efficiency in terms of quality and processes.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Director of EMS Relations will:</p> <p>Act as a liaison between the health system, local EMS agencies, and community-based hospitals.</p> <p>Develop and execute a business plan to drive service-line growth and improve operational quality and processes.</p> <p>Ensure collaboration across all care settings within the facility related to EMS and disaster preparedness.</p> <p>Facilitate EMS performance improvement and quality review by collaborating with local EMS agencies and medical directors.</p> <p>Establish and maintain a process for receiving patients from EMS agencies quickly and safely, ensuring a short turn-around time for EMS crews in coordination with emergency department leadership and compliance with corporate matrices.</p> <p>Promote special care capabilities of the health system to local EMS providers and identified medical care centers for outreach.</p> <p>Provide reports and statistics to health system leadership regarding EMS issues.</p> <p>Stay knowledgeable about market-level intelligence on competitors and consumers, specifically EMS and other public safety agencies.</p> <p>Additional Responsibilities:</p> <p>Maintain a positive relationship between the health system and area EMS providers.</p> <p>Facilitate EMS performance improvement and quality review in collaboration with local EMS agencies and medical directors.</p> <p>Develop and grow hospital/EMS collaboration projects and business opportunities.</p> <p>Conduct marketing and branding activities.</p> <p>Serve as a Division representative to local disaster response leadership.</p> <p>Assist with hospital disaster planning and implementation activities.</p> <p>Attend local, state, and regional EMS meetings as appropriate.</p> <p>Conduct regular EMS reception audits.</p> <p>Participate in the budgeting process as appropriate.</p> <p>Coordinate EMS education activities and events with facility and service line leadership.</p> <p>Manage EMS relationship development, implementation, and management activities.</p> <p>Ensure service line quality aligns with facility/division and national quality standards.</p> <p>Provide customer service training and biophone etiquette training.</p> <p>Lead the coordination and communication of marketing information and sponsorships targeted at EMS agencies.</p> <p>Monitor and communicate performance and inter-agency issues.</p> <p>Assist agencies in completing and reporting agency performance improvement monitoring.</p> <p>Coordinate face-to-face handoffs and contact with EMS and Emergency Department personnel.</p> <p>Review and analyze data in conjunction with the EMS Medical Director.</p> <p>Assist with primary, refresher, and standardized courses as mutually agreed upon.</p> <p>Participate in various recognition programs for EMS.</p> <p>Manage EMS breakroom/lounge and communicated content available to EMS.</p> <p>Facilitate orientation to EMS operations/functions for Emergency Department staff.</p> <p>Round periodically on EMS students/program participants in the clinical area.</p> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <p>Bachelors degree preferred (healthcare or business-related field).</p> <p>5+ years of combined clinical and healthcare and/or business development sales experience.</p> <p>EMS Paramedic and/or Emergency Room Nurse preferred</p> <p>Frequent travel required</p> <p>Established in 1974, Henrico Doctors Hospital is a 340-bed community hospital offering cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, physical therapy, womens services and a 24/7 emergency department.
