Our adjunct assignments are temporary, part-time assignments based on need per semester. The schedule, course subject matter, and number of courses can change. Adjuncts can be assigned 0-3 courses in any given semester.</p> <p>Summary of Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design and teach courses in the field of architecture and engineering design. </li><li>Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught. </li><li>Prepares instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, exams, etc.) as necessary.-Instructs, manages, and supervises students in classrooms and computer labs using appropriate teaching methods. </li><li>Evaluates instruction and learning by means of appropriate testing methods and in consultation with full-time faculty. </li><li>Works closely with an assigned full-time faculty member to ensure academic standards, department standards, and course/program outcomes are met in each class taught. </li><li>Maintains a student-oriented approach to education. </li><li>Coordinates engaged and/or service-learning work experience programs with students as assigned.-Assists counselors, department chairperson and or program coordinator, faculty, and department staff in maintaining an effective program. </li><li>Serves on curriculum committees and attends meetings as assigned. </li><li>Improves professionally and maintains currency in the courses taught by: Reading and utilizing materials found in trade, technical, and professional publications; Surveying and researching industrial and business establishments; Obtaining and maintaining certification and degrees as required; Attending professional and specialty courses; Keeping abreast of new development trends, and techniques. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications</p> <p>Graduation from an accredited business college with an Associate of Applied Science degree in the subject matter or a closely related area and four years of teaching experience or closely related professional experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in the subject matter or a closely related area and one year of teaching or closely related professional experience. Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in the subject matter or a closely related area and two years of teaching or closely related professional experience.</p> <p>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of subject matter and content. </li><li>Proficient in appropriate instructional methods and must be competent to instruct in both theoretical and practical classroom settings. </li><li>Quality instructional strategies and techniques of positive student management, motivation, and evaluation.
