Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Interventional Radiology is seeking Radiology Angiographer. The Radiology Angiographer provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for procedures while adhering to radiation safety principles. Shift:Monday through Friday 8:30am -5:00 PM Responsibilities Essential Functions • Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures and guidelines. • Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. • Assiststhe physician in all procedures as necessary. • Ensuresthatthe patient's education of procedure performed, needs, safety and comfort aremet while in their care. • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. • Adheres to Orlando Health's mission statement and strategic imperatives. • Assesses the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs. • Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results. • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to the appropriate team members. • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulatestechnical factorsto achieve high-quality imagesforinterpretation. • Assesses diagnostic imagesfor technical quality, proper annotation, and patientidentification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. • Applies principles ofradiation safety tominimize exposure to patients,self, and others. • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors. • Appliessterile techniques and appropriate standard precautionsin utilizing Personal Protective equipment(PPE) to prevent crosscontamination in accordance with OH policy and training procedures. • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies. • Assistsin the supervision ofstudenttechnologists and the training of new technologists. • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. • Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation. • Ensuresthe safety of all customers. • Demonstrates knowledge regarding location, use, and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment and instruments. Acts as a resource for its operation and training. • Maintainsthe use of customer service skillsin communication with all Orlando Health staff, visitors, and co-workers. • Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms. • Performs as a mentor/preceptor for new staff whilemaintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism. • Understands the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures. • Ensuresthat case turnover time is within established departmentstandards bymaintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care. • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements. Other Related Functions • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients' rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. • Notifies Biomed and/or vendors as appropriate to resolve issues and reportsincidentsto the supervisor. • Assists in developing and implementing essential policies and procedures. • Staysinformed on all procedural changes and equipment updates. • Participates in process improvement activities as assigned. • Ensures work areas are well-stocked and organized. • Works at any facility asrequired by operational needs or organizational demands. • Assistsin the collection of QA data. • Participatesin processesto ensure that allOSHA, JC, FDA regulations are adhered to within the department. • Takes responsibility for professional growth and continuing education to maintain licensure. • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. • Provides patient transport. Qualifications Education/Training Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
