<p>Rockland Public Schools Rockland, Massachusett District-Wide Speech and Language Pathologist 2026-2027 School Year</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) conducts comprehensive evaluations and provides direct service to identified students in their classrooms and small group or individual settings outside of the classroom. The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) delivers a variety of targeted interventions and instruction designed to develop receptive and expressive language skills, improve oral-motor control for speech production and vocalization, and facilitate the use of assistive technology devices for communication. The SLP develops IEP goals, objectives, and language-based accommodations and shares information with families during IEP meetings. The SLP works as part of the Special Education team, providing modeling and consultation to classroom staff and participating as a member of their assigned school's Student Support Team.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>? Master's Degree ? DESE License of Speech and Language (All Levels) ? Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist ? Experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist, preferably in a school setting ? Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of child speech and language development ? Experience and willingness to evaluate, screen, perform testing, write evaluation reports, and present at IEP meetings</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Provide students with intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, hearing disorders, and pragmatic language skills as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation ? Provide students through MTSS with intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, hearing disorders, and pragmatic language skills as determined by the SST referral process ? Assess students via formal and informal test measures ? Be a resource for staff involved in Student Support Team, or other tiered systems of support ? Participate in the development of student's Individual Education Program (IEP), 504, DCAP, IHP, or other support plan ? Assist teachers and other special education staff in the development and implementation of curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation ? Maintain appropriate records and provide timely reports. ? Support, program, and maintain augmentative communication devices for assigned students ? Experience working with/or extensive professional knowledge in diagnosing and treating students with speech and language disabilities, language-based learning disabilities and dyslexia. ? Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques for students with communication disorders ? Work collaboratively with regular and special education staff and other service providers on best language-based and speech practices across all academic settings. ? Provide information on speech and language disabilities, language-based learning needs, developmental language disability needs, and best accommodations and modifications to support students with speech and language needs.. ? Strong understanding of the interrelationship between oral and written language. ? Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel, students, parents/guardians.. ? Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form ? Certification in Orton Gillingham preferred or willing to obtain certification. ? Certification in Lindamood Bell preferred or willing to obtain certification ? All other duties as assigned</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Pupil Personnel and Building Administration ?
