Full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor - Psychology

POSITION

The School of Professional Psychology (SOPP) at Spalding University seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to join our clinical MA program. Our MA program, which we launched in the fall of 2025, replicates the first two foundational years of the doctoral program for students who want to practice at the master's level. (Our doctoral program has been fully accredited since 1989 and has a strong national reputation.) Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology, with a preference for licensure or licensure eligibility in KY. Outstanding postdoctoral candidates may be considered as long as the EPPP (national licensing exam) has been passed at the doctoral level.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking candidates who possess strong knowledge and skill in multiple training areas. We are especially seeking candidates who are able to teach one of the following: statistics and research methods, cognitive and affective bases of behavior, biological bases of behavior, and/or cognitive assessment. Successful candidates will contribute to our highly collaborative environment, be passionate about training the next generation of psychological practitioners and be expected to achieve a strong balance across the three domains of teaching, scholarship, and service. First, they will be strong educators who utilize best practices in teaching and enjoy student mentoring. Second, they will be thoughtful scholars with either a record of presenting and/or publishing in their chosen research interest areas or demonstrated promise to do so. Third, they will possess strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative spirit to work collegially with others on university and departmental service committees. The position offers scheduling flexibility (other than class times) and faculty members are encouraged to use up to eight hours per week in research, consultation, direct service (e.g. private practice) and/or supervision. Opportunities are available to engage in direct service as part of our Faculty Practice Plan, where faculty are able to see their own private practice clients in the Center for Behavioral Health (https://behavioralhealth.spalding.edu/). Additional contract supervision for doctoral students on practicum may also be available for those with a license.
