Current chemistry course offerings with syllabi and current faculty expertise and research interests can be found at: http://www.manoa.hawaii.edu/chem/.</p> <p>This is a non-tenure track, full-time, 9-month faculty appointment to begin August 1, 2025, subject to position clearance and availability of funds. This is a one-year temporary appointment. Applicants who are ABD (all but dissertation/thesis) will be accepted; however, degree requirements must be met by the effective date of the appointment.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teachundergraduate organic chemistry lecturecourses. </li><li>Serve as lead instructor fororganic chemistry lab courses. Supervise graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate teaching interns. </li><li>Work with faculty and the department chair on curriculum development projects. </li><li>Performother academic tasksasassigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>M.S. from a college or university of recognized standing with major coursework in Chemistry or a closely related field. </li><li>Evidence of the ability to teach college-level chemistry courses effectively. </li><li>Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others </li></ul> <p>Desirable Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field. </li><li>At least three years prior experience teaching college-level organic chemistry courses. </li><li>Familiarity with course development and assessment </li></ul> <p>Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and upload the following as a single PDF document:</p> <ul> <li>Cover letter indicating how you satisfy the minimumand desirablequalifications. </li><li>Curriculum vitae, including teaching history, educational background, a list of prior scholarly achievements, and a list of publications and presentations. </li><li>Names and contact information (including email addresses & phone numbers) of at least three professional references.
