No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary</p> <p>The Coordinator of Campus Recreation - Intramurals Sport and Sport Clubs will assist with the management and oversight of the SUNY Cortland Campus Recreation Intramural Sport and Sport Club programs based out of the Student Life Center. This position primarily covers regular business hours, with flexibility needed to work some nights and weekends. Main responsibilities include intramural sport league and event planning, recruitment and training of student officials and event managers, sport club oversight and administration, guidance for sport club executive boards, and evaluation of risk and management of sport programs. Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings </li></ul> <p>Major Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the assistant director of campus recreation for intramural sports and sport clubs to oversee and maintain all sport activities and leagues within the sport club and intramural sports programs </li><li>Oversight and supervise all intramurals sport officials and event management staff and enforce policies and procedures relating to intramural sport and club sport programs while on duty </li><li>Ensure appropriate staffing levels for all intramural sports as well as sport club events and practices as needed </li><li>Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the intramural sports scheduling software for leagues (IMLeagues) and staffing (WhenToWork) as well as the sport club organizational system (DoSportsEasy) </li><li>Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluation of all student employees in the intramural sport and club sport programs including Graduate Assistants, Event Managers, Student Officials, Office Administration staff, and volunteer/paid sport club coaches </li><li>Support the implementation, review, and recommendations related to intramural sport and sport club policies and procedures including program and facility access, emergency action plans (EAP), and standard operating procedures </li><li>Assist with the operation of sport clubs, including eligibility of participants, team budgets, travel documentation, equipment maintenance, team fundraising, home game management, and game scheduling </li><li>Assist in the implementation and evaluation of a risk management program and training for the intramural sport </li><li>Assist with payroll duties including verification of hours worked and approval of timecards </li><li>Collaborate with on-campus offices including Event Management, Campus Activities, Athletics, and others within the Office of Student Affairs to schedule and coordinate facility reservations for intramural and sport club activities </li><li>Provide additional technical support for intramural sports and sport club programs such as website maintenance and social media advertising and communication </li><li>Maintain inventory of all intramural sports and sport club equipment and supplies, including recommendations for new/replacement equipment and supplies </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of all certifications and trainings for all intramural sports and sport club staff </li><li>Research and provide resources for additional opportunities regarding student development through on-campus or regional engagements </li><li>Assist in maintaining intramural sport and sport club assessment data for reporting to Director of Campus Recreation </li><li>Offer CPR/AED/First Aid certification and re-certification classes </li><li>Supervise two graduate assistants, which includes training, assessment, and evaluation </li></ul> <p>Functional and Supervisory Relationships</p> <p>This individual will report directly to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation for Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs and will have supervisory responsibility for two graduate assistants and undergraduate student workers within the Intramural Sport and Sport Club program. This individual will also maintain collaborative working relationships with faculty and staff within the Student Life Center and across the campus community.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management or related field </li><li>CPR/First Aid/AED certification </li><li>CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Certification (must obtain within the first year of employment) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management or related field </li><li>Prior experience supervising student staff </li><li>Prior work experience in a collegiate recreation program and/or intramural and sport club background </li><li>Experience as an official in officiated sports </li><li>Involvement and activity in NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation </li></ul> <p>About the University</p> <p>A top public university of approximately 6,600 students located in the geographic center of New York State, SUNY Cortland provides accessible, affordable education to students from across the U.S. body.
