If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This position is located at the Sc Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, 1050 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, SC 29902.</p> <p>As a Workforce Specialist II, you will develop and maintain competitive employment opportunities in the community for persistently mental ill patients under the direct supervision of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) supervisor/coordinator.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Workforce Specialist II</p> <ul> <li>Recruit and prepare individuals to successfully pursue transitional, supportive, or competitive employment and/or volunteer opportunities in </li></ul> <p>the community by addressing the skill development needs of patients and case managed referrals. Provide advocacy services on behalf of</p> <p>employed mentally ill patients; consult and work collaboratively with staff, agencies, and employers to achieve positive employment outcomes</p> <p>on behalf of IPS participants. Provide outreach services as necessary to patients when they appear to disengage from service. Use a variety of</p> <p>methods to provide outreach. Delivery of PRS related services as approved and appropriate. Act as the SEE provider as part of the Center's</p> <p>FEP/Navigate program providing supported employment and education services to identified patients and participating in regular team staffing.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a minimum of Employer Contacts weekly as per IPS - Model Fidelity Standards. Regular outreach to new and former employers to </li></ul> <p>build IPS employer partners and employment opportunities. Engage in community events such as job fairs and other activities to support IPS</p> <p>patient's employment goals and employment opportunities.</p> <ul> <li>Keep accurate records of all employment specialist activities and documentation related to IPS-model, Including Employer Contacts, Patient </li></ul> <p>Contacts, and Assessments.</p> <ul> <li>Shall comply with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in </li></ul> <p>performing their job duties.</p> <ul> <li>Perform other related duties as deemed necessary by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in counseling and/or behavior modification programs. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Employee will be expected to promote employment of mentally ill patients including participation in community support networks, aiding employers/employees as needed, and promoting IPS programs. </li><li>Some duties may occur outside of normal hours. </li><li>May be asked to support persons at any of the Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center (CECMHC) clinic sites. </li><li>Majority of work will be in the community and require considerable driving. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Post hire, employees must have:</p> <ul> <li>BA degree and/or direct work experience in mental health or related field to qualify as a credentialed PRS provider. </li><li>Basic understanding of mental illness and the ability to serve persistently a mentally ill population. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, problem solve and have a valid SC Driver's License. </li></ul> <p>This position is based in Beaufort and covers a multi-county area, which includes Beaufort, Colleton, Jasper, Hampton, and Allendale.</p> <p>The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions including, but not limited, to lactation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
