<p>We're seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer to support automated systems in the Life Science industry. This position will be based out of Cookeville, TN, however local and worldwide travel will be required. This role also includes troubleshooting and providing field service for these systems. You will work on innovative automation projects, tackling complex challenges for a variety of industries. Our expertise spans industries that shape the way we live and move-Life Sciences, Transportation, Consumer Products, and General Industry.</p> <p>How You'll Contribute</p> <ul> <li>Travel to customer sites, planned and unplanned, for support, troubleshooting, repair, etc. </li><li>Make necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status. </li><li>Provide remote support through various means of connectivity. </li><li>Create, read, and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical drawings and bills of material using AutoCAD Electrical. </li><li>Robot programming and path editing to restore, maintain, or optimize system performance. </li><li>Develop advanced programs to control devices and machines. </li><li>Perform electrical testing with a multimeter. </li><li>Apply proper wiring practices to ensure safe, reliable systems. </li><li>Design ladder logic and machine controls with strong proficiency in related software. </li><li>Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define machine performance requirements. </li><li>Maintain a thorough understanding of electrical and pneumatic devices. </li><li>Mentor and support less experienced engineers to build team capability. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li>BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years in a related engineering role. </li><li>Life Science equipment and validation familiarity. </li><li>Local and Worldwide travel required up to 75%. </li></ul> <p>Required Hardware/Software Expertise</p> <ul> <li>PLC: Allen Bradley (Logix/Studio 5000), Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal) </li><li>HMI: Allen Bradley, Siemens </li><li>Robotics: Fanuc, Epson </li><li>Networking: Ethernet, Ethernet IP, Profinet, IO Link, Ethercat </li><li>Motion Control: AB, Siemens, IAI, Festo, B&R, etc. </li><li>Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence </li></ul> <p>Desired Experience</p> <ul> <li>PLC: Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Beckhoff </li><li>HMI: Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Proface </li><li>Robotics: Kuka, Yaskawa, Denso, Staubli </li><li>Testing/Monitoring: Force (Kistler, SigPOD), Leak Testing (CTS, Cosmo, etc.) </li><li>Database Tools: Ignition, FTTM, SQL </li><li>Experience in mechanical and electrical skills. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand for extended periods. </li><li>Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, overhead reaching, and bending. </li><li>Comfortable working underneath machines and overhead. </li><li>Ability to exert: </li><li>20-50 lbs occasionally </li><li>10-25 lbs frequently </li><li>Up to 10 lbs continuously </li><li>Visual acuity (near vision, with or without correction). </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer:</p> <p>This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
