In addition, Manufacturing Engineers function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout a manufacturing facility</p> <p>Responsibilities/Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>Improve Manufacturing: Combine practical and process expertise to enhance parts and components. </li><li>Integrate Systems: Develop and implement manufacturing systems, including software and simulations. </li><li>Welding Processes: Work on routing and processing welded components, and create standard procedures. </li><li>Boost Productivity: Guide manufacturing staff and work with suppliers to improve efficiency. </li><li>Coordinate Systems: Ensure new systems work well with existing ones and prepare feasibility studies. </li><li>Implement Technology: Lead new Welding technology projects and create presentations. </li><li>Facilitate Transitions: Ensure smooth transitions of new welding systems across different areas. </li><li>Follow Standards: Adhere to policies related to People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost. </li><li>Manufacturing Experience: Expertise in welding and welding process optimization. </li><li>Project Management: Experience in implementing new systems and welding technologies. </li></ul> <p>Top Candidates Will have:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent oral and written communications skills </li><li>Thorough knowledge concerning welding </li><li>4 year degree in Welding Engineering </li><li>Previous Caterpillar Experience </li><li>Experience with SAP </li><li>Experience with shop floor support </li></ul> <p>What Skills You Will have:</p> <p>Manufacturing Safety::</p> <ul> <li>Consults on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection. </li><li>Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations. </li><li>Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action. </li></ul> <p>Judgment and Decision Making:</p> <ul> <li>Discerns between "signal" and "noise" when considering courses of action. </li><li>Selects the right activities to work on from a range of competing priorities. </li><li>Stands by decisions in the face of conflict or unexpected outcome. </li><li>Makes the transition from evaluation to conclusion readily and in a timely manner. </li><li>Revisits decisions when appropriate, but infrequently and without disrupting focus. </li></ul> <p>Lean Manufacturing:</p> <ul> <li>Discusses considerations for work cell design and effectiveness monitoring. </li><li>Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean. </li><li>Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area. </li><li>Selects and utilizes tools, techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment. </li><li>Explains benchmarks and measures of effectiveness of lean. </li></ul> <p>Manufacturing Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Specifies routine maintenance: cleaning, replacing defective or worn parts. </li><li>Specifies basic care and safety considerations for a specific type of manufacturing equipment. </li><li>Participates in setting up new machines and testing according to manufacturer's specifications. </li><li>Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems. </li><li>Conducts routine inspections; checks machine performance and equipment safeguards; reports standards violations. </li></ul> <p>Manufacturing Processes:</p> <ul> <li>Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness. </li><li>Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks. </li><li>Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process. </li><li>Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies. </li><li>Selects and optimizes specific methodologies for specific products. </li><li>Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>The location for this position is South Milwaukee, WI. </li><li>Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position. </li><li>Travel up to 10% </li><li>Sponsorship is not available </li></ul> <p>Summary Pay Range:</p> <p>$95,640.00 - $143,520.00</p> <p>Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
