This is a seasonal position, scheduled to begin in May 2026.</p> <p>The purpose of this position is to assist the Recreation Coordinator and Assistant Pool Managers in the supervision, deployment, and training of lifeguard staff at the pool.  In addition to functioning as a lifeguard, the Head Lifeguard is responsible for the on-site supervision, utilization, and performance of lifeguard staff.  Duties can include, but are not limited to: supervising assigned pool personnel; enforcing all rules and regulations; some pool maintenance including vacuum operation, and maintaining facility sanitation; provide for the safety of all patrons utilizing the pool facility; providing and ensuring premier customer service to patrons.  This position may also develop and conduct in-service training, prepare reports on pool operations, pool patrons, maintenance, programs, rentals, & special events as needed; performs other duties as assigned.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by educating customers, resolving customer concerns, meeting customer needs, responding to requests and helping to maintain a safe and clean pool environment in a professional manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with training, scheduling, motivating, correcting, and supervising all lifeguard personnel.  Ensure that all shifts are covered. Will spend at least 70% of their time outside.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with rentals, programs, and special events for the pool.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee general facility maintenance and cleanliness including: </p> </li><li> <p>cleaning bathhouse restrooms, pool house areas, pool, pool deck, pool yard, and pool equipment. </p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates lifeguard rotations and ensures lifeguards are on duty during all pool use.   May assist on stand as needed. </p> </li><li> <p>Assists in providing in-service training each week on safety and emergency procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Render emergency care as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all State of Texas and City of Cedar Hill pool regulations and policies are followed during the pool season. Ensures enforcement of regulations and policies by pool staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires regular attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Less than high school education acceptable.  </p> </li><li> <p>Must be at least 16 years of age (by May 2026).</p> </li><li> <p>Related experience preferred. </p> </li><li> <p>A current American Red Cross certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguarding.</p> </li></ul> <p>Complete online application at Cedar Hill City Website at www.cedarhilltx.com.
