<p>TITLE: Early Childhood Literacy Coach</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in early childhood </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in literacy instruction </li><li>Experience planning and delivering professional development </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Early Childhood Curriculum Supervisor</p> <p>JOB GOAL: Support the implementation of district-level literacy initiatives and programs focusing on facilitating adult learning to support student success.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Disseminate knowledge from the district to school-based teams in accordance with district-level literacy initiatives and programs </li><li>Plan, coordinate, and implement needs-based professional learning, including but not limited to evidence-based early literacy practices </li><li>Collaborate with literacy leaders, early childhood educators, and community partners to analyze district, school, and partner data to identify early literacy professional development needs </li><li>Provide school-based and community partner staff with professional development to build capacity to analyze student data, and select evidence-based literacy strategies to meet individual student needs, including strategies for teaching English Learners, students receiving Special Education services, and students living in poverty </li><li>Support schools and community partners in literacy-based family engagement opportunities using a variety of out-reach methods based on the needs of the community </li><li>Work collaboratively with teachers and community partner staff to determine literacy needs of students based on data analysis and informal observation </li><li>Provide individual and small group coaching to teachers and community partner staff to include data analysis, lesson planning, lesson delivery, and reflection on best practices to increase effective literacy instruction </li><li>Model research-based early literacy practices specific to diverse learners </li><li>Attend professional development to strengthen knowledge, skills, and strategies relative to literacy and coaching </li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities related to early literacy as assigned by the Early Childhood Curriculum Supervisor </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt position. Ten month work year. Salary to be established by the Board</p>
