<p>Salary: Based on ExperienceThe Charter School of Educational Excellence's mission is to develop students who are critical thinkers, motivated leaders, and lifelong learners. Our vision is to create a school that has high expectations for every child and challenges each child to surpass the New York State standards.The Charter School of Educational Excellence seeks a School Business Officer to provide leadership in managing our school's business operations and fundraising/development efforts. The School Business Officer is responsible for tasks related to finance, procurement, and service contracts, in addition to creating, implementing, and driving forward a development plan for CSEE to meet their fundraising targets. Financial management responsibilities include directly managing the school budget, including expenditures, collection of funds and deposits, record keeping, and other relevant financial information. The School Business Officer assists the Chief Executive Officer with all projects and activities that create a successful school environment. The School Business Officer will manage operations staff and report to the Chief Executive Officer. Responsibilities & duties (including, but not limited to) Budget & FinanceEnsure adherence to the school's fiscal policy and procedures; participate in annual financial audit process by providing documentation as needed to auditorsWork with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and manage school's budgetCoordinate on-site components of school financial systems such as purchase orders, payroll records, grant reports, and financial forms reportsMaintain accurate records of all financial transactions for school based accounts and submit payment requests for processingParticipate in monthly meetings with the Chief Executive Officer to review/account for budget variances; monitor and report on usage of the school based bank accounts School Administration Assist in ensuring the school is adhering to all local compliance and reporting requirements, as per calendars and guidelines provided by the State Education DepartmentBe highly present and visible during school hours, relentlessly ensuring the school has an exceptional school cultureBuild and support school systems and routines, including arrival, late pickup, lunch and recess, dismissal, and processes supporting students and staffEnsure the timely implementation of all items on the monthly administrative calendarParticipate actively when needed in faculty meetings, administrative team meetings, and other meetingsParticipate in the logistical planning and execution of the annual two/three-week summer staff orientation and trainingEnsure that the procurement of all materials, supplies, and services necessary for the efficient operation of the school is contracted in accordance with Federal, State, and Department of Education regulations, as well as Board of Trustee policies and procedures Management and Leadership Adhere to the policies, standards, and school-wide responsibilities described in the "Staff Handbook."Assist with the supervision of the school-based Operations support staff (Operations Associate, Child Nutrition, Department, and contracted vendors)Ensure an orderly, responsive, friendly, and open schoolProject Management Develop the strategy and implementation plan for school-wide projectsEach year, provide leadership in preparing the campus for start-up/new school year by creating project plans, divisions of labor and organizing staff around ordering furniture, equipment, and classroom supplies as well as ensuring that school services (i.e., student food services, student transportation services) are lined up and ready for actionWork with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that all government and authorizer grant proposals and reports are completed on timeStudent Enrollment & ServicesHelp plan the application process, including recruitment, lottery, and registration scheduleAssist in preparations for open houses, lottery, and student registrationAssist in the design and placement of ads to recruit studentsAssist in the school's admissions from its waitlist and proper documentation in Student Applicant Database of declined offers, etc.Participate in student health services; monitor student health and safety for any unusual or disconcerting trends; coordinate with site nursing staff to ensure that students receive appropriate careManage school-wide daily systems for child nutrition reportingGeneral Responsibilities Develop and lead operations meetingsParticipate in school-wide events, including Open House, Parent Teacher Conferences, and Monthly Board Meetings Perform other related duties as required and assignedWork experience & skills At least three years of operations management experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentMinimum two years of work experience in data management or a similar environmentPrior experience working in schools and/or urban communitiesBachelor's degree required in business administrationMaster's degree preferred in business administrationExperience with project management and developing a long-term strategic planExcellent organizational, planning, and implementation skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community membersProficiency in Google Platform, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OutlookPersonal qualities & behavioral traits Passionately dedicated to the school's mission and visionDevelops and maintains positive communications and working relationships with students, parents, and co-workers by being collaborative and maintaining a pleasant work attitudeAbility to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressuresAcute attention to detail coupled with the ability to think strategicallyStrong time management skills;
