<p>Administrative Assistant</p> <p>Metals USA is seeking an Administrative Assistant in Northeast Philadelphia (at the intersection of Roosevelt Blvd & Plaza Drive). Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon-steel (plate, beam, tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace, and fabrication industries.</p> <p>The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative or clerical duties with minimal variation and requires moderate skill level.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Answers phones, files, maintains records and data bases. </li><li>Maintains electronic and hard copy filing system. </li><li>Processes applications or forms, running basic reports. </li><li>Distributes documents, sorts and routes mail. </li><li>Performs data entry, copying, faxing, scanning and receptionist duties. </li><li>Conducts basic research to provide answers or best course of action in non-routine situations. </li><li>Assists in resolving any administrative problems. </li><li>Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of an administrative assistant. </li><li>Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements. </li><li>Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. </li><li>Performs other related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Occupation requires being sedentary less than or equal to 75% of the time (< 6 hours per day)</p> <ul> <li>Sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, walk, climb, squat or kneel, bend </li><li>Regularly work on repetitive tasks </li><li>Regularly work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.</p> <ul> <li>Working inside an office/cubicle environment </li><li>Quiet to moderate noise levels </li><li>Dust, fumes and airborne particles </li><li>Moderate to heavy telephone activity </li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Minimum 2 years clerical or administrative experience </li><li>Ability to communicate oral & written effectively with both internal & external customers </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team. </li><li>Computer Literacy to include Microsoft Office Products: Excel and ERP </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) </li><li>Ability to enter data efficiently, timely and correctly in order to meet deadlines </li><li>Ability to adhere to standard office practices and procedures to include, filing, customer service, attention to detail, organizational management and time management </li><li>Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success-oriented, deadline driven organization </li><li>Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to demonstrate professionalism & diplomacy to include telephone etiquette </li><li>Experience creating and maintaining an Access database system. </li><li>Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and is able to succeed in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Most duties are clearly defined and require limited discretion, independent judgment and ingenuity </li></ul> <p>Metals USA offers a competitive starting hourly rate of $21.50 - $23.50 and benefits plus upward professional growth.</p> <p>Metals USA is committed to protecting our employees by creating and maintaining a workplace free of substance abuse.</p> <p>"Metals USA provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability."</p>
