<p>Job Description</p> <p>Rotating</p> <p>Under direct supervision of a registered radiographer, participates in the</p> <p>Imaging process by delivering care to patients and their families. Duties and responsibilities include patient care pre-, during, and post-procedure; patient positioning for imaging exams; EMR documentation; and patient safety. The radiographer graduate will utilize this time to learn the institution and practice. Until the Maryland State License as a Radiographer is acquired, the Radiographer Graduate may not dispense ionizing radiation in any form to any patient.</p> <p>It is expected that the radiographer graduate successfully meets all requirements of the Departmental Orientation. ARRT(R) certification and Maryland State License for Radiographers must be completed within 90 days of the date that the graduate completed the school radiologic technology program. Basic computer skills are required. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Certification in Basic Life Support required.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Executes basic clinical competency in positioning for general radiology exams, including fluoroscopy, in all locations across all patient types. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. </li><li>Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards. </li><li>Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems. Uses the initials "RG" after the radiographer graduate's name as credentials. </li><li>Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Reports equipment malfunctions and problems to Site Coordinator. </li><li>Follows institutional infection control guidelines. </li><li>Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors and other members of the health care team, demonstrating positive guest relations skills and treating patient information confidentially. </li><li>Performs general support services for the unit and patient which may include running unit errands, procuring equipment, and taking and relaying messages accurately and timely. </li></ul> <p>All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</p> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>Pay Range: ($28.82- $40.35) </li><li>Other Compensation (if applicable): </li><li>Review the 2024-2025 UMMS Benefits Guide </li></ul>
