If so, continue reading to discover your chance to make a difference at DEW!</p> <p>INTERNAL POSTING - only current DEW employees will be considered.</p> <p>2 vacancies</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Are you skilled at analyzing claims, making decisions, and supporting a team?</p> <p>We're looking for an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Examiner to join our UI operations team, which is responsible for administrating South Carolina's unemployment insurance claims processes. This role will be responsible for issuing non-monetary decisions that determine claimant eligibility for UI benefits while providing support, assistance, and problem resolution within the UI Operations Department. An ideal candidate will be customer-service oriented with the ability to manage their time well and support a team.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>The UI Examiner will:</p> <ul> <li>Initiate correspondence and/or conducts interviews with claimants, employers, and/or other stakeholders via telephone, mail, fax, and electronic methods. </li><li>Utilize appropriate agency standards, handbooks, and software systems when making analyzing claims and making administrative adjustments. </li><li>Issue determinations in accordance with Benefit Timeliness Quality (BTQ) standards, SC Codes of Laws, SC regulations, and UI Division policy and guidelines. </li><li>Provide ongoing support, assistance, and guidance to other UI positions as workload dictates as provided for by Career Pathways. </li><li>Exercise judgment and discretion. </li><li>Effectively communicate clearly in written and oral form. </li><li>Interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. </li></ul> <p>If you're ready to take on this challenge and help support South Carolina's workforce system, please apply. We look forward to hearing from you!</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>A bachelor's degree and 1+ year relevant experience. 4+ years demonstratable experience processing claims, adjudicating, issuing administrative determinations, auditing, or similar activities may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
