You'll skillfully manage a fast-paced flow of communications like scheduling appointments and guiding patients through registration all while balancing accuracy and efficiency. Following established procedures with precision, you'll ensure every detail is handled correctly, contributing to a welcoming patient experience. Join us at Midtown Community Health Center as our Patient Service Representative, where your dedication to exceptional service helps make every patient's visit a positive one.</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>The position highly influences the first impression and effectiveness of patient experience while serving as the initial and final point of contact for patients and other visitors. Assists patients with inquires of all types to include scheduling, medication refills, referral information, lab/test results, and other general information regarding MTCH practices. Responsible for completing the registration process, obtaining signatures on release and consent forms, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, and collecting fees. Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Promotes positive customer relations in dealing with patients, visitors and other employees </li><li>Demonstrates caring qualities and customer service skills consistent with MTCHC values when engaging with patients, visitors or other employees </li><li>Ability to resolve conflict with others quickly </li><li>Uses two patient identifiers during any patient interaction </li><li>Correctly enters and updates patient information on demographic screens </li><li>Understands and correctly uses consent for treatment documents </li><li>Properly assigns sliding fee schedule to patients </li><li>Collects payments in accordance with MTCHC polices/ able to explain sliding fees and flat charges </li><li>Completes, scans, and labels HIPAA paperwork and other registration documents </li><li>Identifies eligibility for special programs (VFC, UCCP, Head Start, etc.) </li><li>Enters payment information correctly </li><li>Schedules appointments in accordance with visit types </li><li>Places appropriate alert notes in eCW </li><li>Reminds patients of: POI, co-pay, POR, medication lists and shot records </li><li>Makes reminder calls for pre-scheduled appointments regularly and document outcome of call accurately </li><li>Ensures telephone encounters are used correctly and messages are free from spelling errors </li><li>Verifies and updates telephone encounter fields, assign messages to correct recipient in a timely manner </li><li>Maintains confidentiality and HIPPA policies </li><li>Possesses necessary written and verbal communication skills to perform job </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent. 1-year medical office experience preferred, but not required.</p> <p>Other Skills: Ability to communicate in English and Spanish to meet the mission of Midtown. Relates well with others in a team-based environment, works quickly and accurately under pressure, communicates effectively in both written and oral, and has basic computer skills.</p>
