<p>Data Center Operations Manager</p> <p>Job Overview</p> <p>The Data Center Operations Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the build-out and ongoing operation of a high-performance, enterprise-scale data center environment.</p> <p>This role is designed for a working leader-someone who actively participates in day-to-day technical operations while leading a team of technicians and engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes. You will play a key role during the initial deployment phase, supporting infrastructure bring-up, commissioning, and operational readiness. As the data center transitions into steady-state operations, you will take ownership of site performance, team execution, and operational consistency.</p> <p>This position combines technical depth with operational leadership, requiring a leader who is comfortable being on the floor solving problems while also setting priorities, coordinating work, and driving accountability across the team.</p> <p>You will work closely with cross-functional infrastructure teams, vendors, and stakeholders, making clear and professional communication in English (written and verbal) essential for success in this role.</p> <p>This role offers continuity across both deployment and operational phases and is part of a broader program focused on building a stable, high-performing infrastructure environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Hands-On Operations Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Actively participate in daily data center operations, including monitoring, configuration, and break/fix activities </li><li>Serve as the primary escalation point while directly contributing to incident resolution and root cause analysis (RCA) </li><li>Lead by example in maintaining uptime, operational discipline, and service delivery standards </li><li>Work alongside technicians and engineers to ensure efficient execution of all on-site activities </li></ul> <p>Operational Ownership</p> <ul> <li>Own end-to-end site operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and efficiency across infrastructure systems </li><li>Oversee vendor and colocation activities, remaining directly engaged in execution and issue resolution </li><li>Maintain accountability for incident tracking, resolution, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership & Development</p> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians and engineers </li><li>Set priorities, coordinate daily work, and ensure alignment with operational objectives </li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and high performance </li></ul> <p>Capacity Planning & Process Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Drive capacity planning efforts to ensure scalability and operational efficiency </li><li>Identify and implement process improvements based on operational insights </li><li>Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and performance </li></ul> <p>Project Execution</p> <ul> <li>Lead and execute data center projects, including deployments, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades </li><li>Act as the on-site owner for project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and safety standards are met </li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining strong execution focus </li></ul> <p>Financial & Asset Management</p> <ul> <li>Support budgeting and cost control through oversight of asset utilization and procurement </li><li>Ensure accurate tracking and management of data center assets and inventory </li><li>Balance operational requirements with cost efficiency </li></ul> <p>Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required for coordination with global teams and stakeholders </li><li>Proven ability to operate as a working manager, balancing hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities </li><li>Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, including compute, networking fundamentals, and facilities systems </li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and incident management capabilities </li><li>Experience managing vendors and colocation environments </li><li>Strong project execution and operational planning skills </li><li>Experience in capacity planning, asset management, and process improvement </li><li>Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills </li><li>Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, high-availability environments </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across teams </li></ul> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in data center operations or similar infrastructure environments </li><li>Proven experience in hands-on technical roles within data centers </li><li>Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, with a focus on hands-on operational leadership </li><li>Experience supporting data center build-outs, deployments, or infrastructure upgrades (strongly preferred) </li><li>Experience managing colocation environments and vendor relationships </li><li>Demonstrated experience leading incident response and operational execution </li><li>Experience with capacity planning and performance optimization </li><li>Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC, ISO, PCI) is a plus </li></ul>
