<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Dr. Marie Bechler's lab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Research Support Specialist to join her NIH-funded research team studying myelin sheath formation in the central nervous system. This is an opportunity to contribute to impactful biomedical research within a collaborative and supportive lab environment.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Perform and support a variety of research tasks, including experimentation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI).</p> <p>Document and report experimental procedures and results clearly and accurately.</p> <p>Assist in training lab members in experimental procedures and safety practices.</p> <p>Support daily lab operations, including maintaining organization, inventory, and equipment, compliance with safety protocols, as well as handling of chemicals and biohazards.</p> <p>Obtain quotes and place orders for lab supplies; manage incoming inventory.</p> <p>Experimental techniques may include neurobiology and cell biology methods, such as:</p> <p>primary cell culture,</p> <p>CNS tissue sectioning,</p> <p>rodent surgery,</p> <p>immunofluorescence,</p> <p>western blotting,</p> <p>RNA analysis (e.g., RNA Seq), and</p> <p>advanced imaging techniques (e.g., confocal and electron microscopy)</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Neurobiology, Bioengineering or in a related discipline.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>At least 6 months experience in a basic science laboratory (wet lab) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Work Days:</p> <p>Monday-Friday, days with occasional evening or weekend hours.</p> <p>Message to Applicants:</p> <p>Salary Range-$35,568-$50,000</p> <p>Recruitment Office: Human Resources</p>
