This is a strategic leadership role as we continue to strengthen and grow our transportation planning practice locally, working with clients such as the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), Clark County, RTC, and the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson.</p> <p>At WSP, we are driven by inspiring the right people to be part of our Future Ready business objectives. <p>Expertise</p> <ul> <li>Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, and task lead and collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready transportation planning solutions for clients. </li><li>Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams to execute project work, including managing project scope, schedule, and budgets and cost-to-complete. </li><li>Coordinate with project managers, task managers, project team technical leads, subconsultants, and other disciplines such as planning, engineering, sustainability and traffic team members. </li><li>Perform professional transportation planning work and conduct investigations, and studies, to gain further information on a particular problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future needs affecting transportation analysis and demand management, corridor planning, complete streets, multimodal mobility, and safety planning, PEL Studies and NEPA analyses. </li><li>Demonstrated experience applying and interpreting various traffic modeling tools (e.g., microsimulation, macroscopic, and mesoscopic models) to support transportation planning and operational analysis. </li><li>Lead and prepare drafts of transportation technical reports and memos, presentations, and other materials to summarize research, findings, and recommendations. </li><li>Lead staff to prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, infographics, cross-sections, and 3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of complex and large-scale data, findings, or analyses. </li><li>Remain current in transportation planning practices, regulations, and techniques. </li></ul> <p>Clients</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with clients, partner agencies, subcontractors, and technical staff in a confident and professional manner. </li><li>Support local client coordination, pursuit management, and cross-selling efforts in coordination with local and region leadership. </li><li>Attend civic and industry events, conferences, and forums such as ITE, WTS, APA, APWA, and ACEC. </li><li>Together with business line leaders, strategically grow the planning practice in Nevada and bring an expanded view and integrated response by leveraging WSP's technical and subject matter experts across offices and regions. </li></ul> <p>Operational Excellence</p> <ul> <li>In collaboration with business line leaders, develop a client base for providing transportation planning services including identifying additional business development opportunities and engaging in proposal writing and submission. </li><li>Coordinate with leads and specialists in other business lines and regions (particularly Transportation & Infrastructure) to engage in projects and pursuits and leverage a broader base of staff support. </li><li>Provide innovation and collaboration with a focus on maintaining and improving quality. </li></ul> <p>People & Culture</p> <ul> <li>Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development. </li><li>Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for Sustainability and Ethics & Compliance </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the transportation planning field, or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a focus on infrastructure projects. </li><li>Proven experience overseeing and managing multidisciplinary transportation projects of small, medium, and large-scale. </li><li>Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area. </li><li>Experience with professional environmental services as a consultant or client, developing scopes of work, directing work, issuing or responding to RFP or RFQs. </li><li>Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and ability to identify effective solutions to accomplish project objectives. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership experience, personal accountability, persistence, and growth. </li><li>Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement. </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree is preferred. </li><li>Essential professional licensure/certification. </li></ul> <p>WSP Benefits:</p> <p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.</p>
