<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Neurodiversity Center for Excellence, Director of Social Achievement in Learning (SAIL) will facilitate program development and growth of the SAIL Program and other Neurodiversity Center programming initiatives. The Director will develop new programming opportunities to aid in growth and retention of programs for neurodivergent students. This position will design and provide institution-wide leadership, faculty training, and student support services focused on communication accessibility, executive function, and social engagement for neurodivergent students.</p> <p>As the college's primary subject matter expert on neurodiversity, the Director will integrate universal design for learning (UDL), and strengths-based coaching into student support programs and institutional policies. This role requires a strategic leader who can collaborate across departments, advocate for systemic change, and apply clinical expertise in communication and executive function to enhance student success.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ol> <li>Program Oversight & Development: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Direct all aspects of the SAIL program, including service provision, program planning, and student and family communication; </li><li>Lead recruitment and retention efforts to grow the current SAIL program, by refining admissions processes, program communication, and onboarding of students; </li><li>Develop and implement policies and procedures for neurodiversity programs and student experiences; </li><li>Implement continuous improvement initiatives using drive data-driven decision-making; </li><li>Design and implement new programs to meet recognized student needs on campus (e.g. Commuter SAIL, additional new programming), in partnership with campus stakeholders; </li><li>Develop campus programming, peer mentorship initiatives, and community-building activities tailored to neurodivergent students; </li><li>Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for students navigating neurodivergent experiences in higher education. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Institutional Leadership & Faculty Training: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Collaborate with leadership and campus stakeholders to shape institutional policies and strategic initiatives that remove systemic barriers for neurodivergent students and advance Curry College's strategic plan; </li><li>Lead cross-campus faculty and staff training on and development of neurodiversity-affirming communication, implementation of UDL-informed teaching strategies, classroom accessibility, and executive function strategies; </li><li>Partner with Office of Accessibility, the PAL program, Residence Life, student affairs, and counseling to integrate social communication expertise into holistic student support models. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>External Partnerships & Grants: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Provide subject matter expertise to build partnerships and secure grants to expand neurodiversity initiatives; </li><li>Represent Curry College at conferences and workshops as a thought leader on neurodiversity, accessibility, and inclusive higher education; </li><li>Develop evidence-based training materials, toolkits, and best practices for use across campus and with corporate partners; </li><li>Implement new programming for career readiness skills for neurodivergent workers in collaboration with Career & Experiential Learning and corporate partners; </li><li>Support the Neurodiversity Center's work with employers, alumni, and professional organizations to create neurodivergent-friendly career pipelines. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Program Oversight & Development: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Direct all aspects of the SAIL program, including service provision, program planning, and student and family communication; </li><li>Lead recruitment and retention efforts to grow the current SAIL program, by refining admissions processes, program communication, and onboarding of students; </li><li>Develop and implement policies and procedures for neurodiversity programs and student experiences; </li><li>Design and implement accountability frameworks to evaluate outcomes, measure impact, and ensure programmatic success in alignment with institutional goals; </li><li>Implement continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven decision-making; </li><li>Design and implement new programs to meet recognized student needs on campus (e.g. Commuter SAIL, additional new programming), in partnership with campus stakeholders; </li><li>Develop campus programming, peer mentorship initiatives, and community-building activities tailored to neurodivergent students; </li><li>Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for students navigating neurodivergent experiences in higher education. </li></ul> <p>Additional Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as requested or directed </li><li>Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or their designee. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Essential Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Exhibits a high degree of initiative for bringing tasks to successful completion and succeeding in achieving stated goals. </li><li>Expresses oneself clearly, purposefully, and effectively both written and verbal context. Possesses excellent organizational and time management skills to achieve optimal results. </li><li>Demonstrates positive attitudes and positive actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, sensitivity, and professionalism to collaborate with a variety of individuals. </li><li>Ability to function independently, give attention to detail, work under pressure, prioritize multiple projects, and handle confidential information. </li><li>Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders; ability to design systems to respond to student and faculty needs; ability to work well with students with learning disabilities in high anxiety situations </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in a related field focused on supporting neurodivergent individuals, including but not limited to communication sciences, counseling, education, or behavioral health </li><li>Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in neurodiversity support, or accessibility services. </li><li>Expertise in social communication, executive function coaching, and self-advocacy skill development for neurodivergent individuals. </li><li>Strong background in universal design for learning (UDL), inclusive teaching strategies, and assistive technology for communication. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to influence institutional policy, develop faculty training programs, and advocate for systemic change. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience leading neurodiversity-focused programs within higher education or corporate settings. </li><li>Proven track record of securing and managing grants related to accessibility and inclusion. </li><li>Experience developing and implementing professional development initiatives. </li><li>Familiarity with assistive technologies and digital accessibility tools for neurodivergent individuals. </li><li>Strong research background in neurodiversity, inclusive education, or disability studies. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$95,000 to $100,000 annually</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Curry College will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity.
