<p>Shape the Future of Urban Mobility in Brookline</p> <p>The Town of Brookline is seeking a dynamic and analytical Transportation Engineer to help design and manage safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems in a thriving urban environment. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Transportation, this professional role is responsible for improving traffic operations, overseeing signal timing and signage, and leading data-driven projects that enhance pedestrian and vehicular mobility throughout the community.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze and improve traffic flow, pedestrian safety, parking systems, and signal operations. </li><li>Lead data collection efforts and transform findings into actionable recommendations. </li><li>Oversee signage and pavement marking inventories using GIS. </li><li>Evaluate traffic calming and safety improvement strategies for neighborhoods and developments. </li><li>Present engineering reports and recommendations to the Transportation Board and community stakeholders. </li><li>Collaborate with Town boards, developers, and the public on transportation-related projects. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field. </li><li>5+ years experience in municipal or transportation engineering. </li><li>Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) and eligibility for PE license. </li><li>Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, signal systems, and relevant state/federal standards. </li><li>Experience with traffic modeling and GIS tools a plus. </li><li>Valid drivers license required. </li></ul> <p>Why Brookline?</p> <p>Join a forward-thinking team where innovation, equity, and data-driven planning are at the forefront of transportation policy.
