<p>Are you passionate about improving the lives of those affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse?</p> <p>Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a SAFEPLAN Court-Based Advocate in the SAFEPLAN program at Behavioral Health Network!</p> <p>Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the SAFEPLAN program with the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Providing short-term court-based supports and crisis intervention to individuals who come to court seeking protective orders.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing crisis assessment and intervention services.</p> </li><li> <p>Creating comprehensive individual safety plans with individuals served, whether or not they choose to apply for a protective order.</p> </li><li> <p>Completing safety planning and risk assessments with individuals and assisting with the process to obtain protective orders.</p> </li><li> <p>Educating individuals about various topics including dynamics of abuse, sexual assault, and stalking, as well as their rights and procedures to obtain protective orders.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing referrals to BHN's SAFEPLAN host agencies and other appropriate resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinating with appropriate follow-up services and resources including counseling, group support, legal services, or District Attorney Victim Witness Advocates.</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing the victims for court testimonies, accompanying them to court, and supporting them throughout the trial.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining relationships and communication with other court personnel to help support survivors during and after legal proceedings.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing and participating in opportunities for community outreach and education about domestic violence and sexual assault (i.e., National Night Out).</p> </li><li> <p>Attending staff group supervision, Task Force meetings, and continued DV advocacy trainings.</p> </li><li> <p>Completing all required contracted reporting requirements, including progress notes, contact hours, and monthly reports to meet contract requirements.</p> </li></ul> <p>Who are we?</p> <p>SAFEPLAN is a court-based program funded by the Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance to help victims seeking protection from abuse from sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking.
