Position:</p> <ul> <li>Curriculum, Assessment, Data Manager for Health and Wellness </li></ul> <p>Objective:</p> <ul> <li>The Curriculum, Assessment, Data Manager for Health and Wellness will provide proactive, collaborative leadership to support the execution of key strategic initiatives related to Health and Wellness. Will oversee the creation and management of a system wide initiatives aimed at developing staff to ensure District goals are met. </li></ul> <p>Qualification Standards Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of current educational principles, best practices and procedures in development and implementation of Health and Wellness curriculum, instruction, and assessment PK-12. </li><li>Knowledge of local, state and national standards and assessments and ability to support their application, development and implementation. </li><li>Knowledge of use of technology as an educational tool to support learning, multicultural instructional materials, and experience teaching across disciplines and with diverse populations. </li><li>Ability to provide leadership for professional development building capacity in areas of supervision. </li><li>Ability to monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives and support the districts goals through school visits, data analysis, and collaboration with other NBPS offices. </li><li>Ability to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and state and national colleagues to implement and monitor the strategic plan. </li><li>Possess excellent planning, organization, management, communications (oral and written) and human relations skills. </li><li>Ability to prepare documents and presentations for a variety of audiences about the Health and Wellness programs at the PreK-12 levels. </li><li>Have clear and demonstrated dedication to urban education and to the belief that all students can learn in order to develop the mission of educational excellence in New Bedford Public Schools. </li><li>Experience in curriculum development, quantitative data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting with strong focus on data quality and continuous improvement processes. </li><li>Expertise with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; and in evaluating and learning new computer programs and familiarity with both Mac and PC operating environments. </li><li>Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative. </li><li>Strong work ethics, coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to one's work. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent </li><li>Some extended day work required. Occasional attendance at evening meetings (i.e., School Committee, PTA/O, and community). </li></ul> <p>Education, Training and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required and master's degree desired from accredited college or university. </li><li>Course work in educational leadership or administration. </li><li>Minimum seven years combined experience as a classroom teacher and/or successful recent leadership experience in assessing program needs, instructional planning, assessment development, and professional development. </li><li>Meet appropriate DESE requirements </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Reports to: Deputy Superintendent </li><li>Salary: $120,000- $130,000 based on experience </li></ul> <p>The New Bedford Public Schools do not discriminate on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, military status, genetics, or disability that does not prohibit performance of essential job functions in employment for potential employees.
