Under the mentorship of the Pathologists' Assistant Manager, you'll engage in essential tasks such as examining surgical specimens for critical diagnoses, refining autopsy prosection techniques, and mastering the art of medical photography.</p> <p>In this role, you'll play a crucial part in specimen preparation for fixation and embedding, perform advanced frozen section procedures, and actively participate in various departmental activities. Your contributions will span patient services, innovative research, teaching initiatives, and the development of cutting-edge technical procedures.</p> <p>As a successful candidate, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Accession surgical specimens in the laboratory information system (LIS) </li><li>Proposes improvements to processes and methods as needed. </li><li>Oversee and performs processing and grossing of surgical specimens, as defined by CAP and CLIA 88, list A, B and C, for anatomic pathology. </li><li>Oversee and performs quality control and quality assurance. </li><li>Process and gross surgical specimens </li><li>Perform routine and complex autopsies. </li></ul> <p>Your qualifications should include:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Pathologist Assistant Studies </li><li>ASCP / AAPA Pathologist Assistant certification </li><li>4+ year experience as a certified Pathologist Assistant in an Anatomic Pathology Laboratory </li></ul> <p>City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.</p> <p>City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>To learn more about our Comprehensive Benefits, please CLICK HERE.</p>
