<p>Actalent is hiring a Histology Technician in Lakewood, CO!</p> <p>Open to Lab Technicians or Lab Assistants who have cutting and embedding experience!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Histotechnician III will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in a state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. This role operates during the night shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Under the guidance of a Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turnaround times.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Cut, stain, and perform tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. </li><li>Perform accurate gross description on tissue samples. </li><li>Execute quality control procedures established for each method and maintain accurate records. </li><li>Operate all instruments and equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognize and identify instrument/equipment problems. </li><li>Meet acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. </li><li>Recognize testing errors, discrepancies, or problems and notify appropriate personnel; assist in problem resolution. </li><li>Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. </li><li>Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. </li><li>Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. </li><li>Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science </li><li>Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours). </li><li>Skills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques. </li><li>At least 6 months experience with cutting and embedding required </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>ASCP certification preferred but not required </li><li>Proficiency with laboratory equipment and lab testing. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position is based in a CAP-certified pathology laboratory equipped with modern technologies. You will work the night shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The role offers a dynamic environment with room for professional growth.
