<p>ABOUT US</p> <p>Judson Smith is based just outside Boyertown, PA and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies and a leading manufacturer of metal tubular parts and machined components to custom specifications for the medical device, aerospace and automotive industries. Capabilities include Swiss Screw machine parts, laser cutting and welding, tube fabrication, CNC milling / turning, wire EDM and more.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, with a strong focus on supporting production through equipment maintenance and repair. The technician will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and complete preventive maintenance on a variety of production machinery. Ensuring compliance with quality standards and environmental regulations (EPA/DEP) is a key part of the role. Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills are essential for maintaining equipment reliability and supporting overall plant operations.</p> <p>IDEAL EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>The ideal candidate has 4-7 years of experience in a production environment, with strong skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and equipment. They should be knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (EPA/DEP), preventive maintenance procedures, welding, and electrical systems. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication are essential to ensure safe operations and high team morale.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility and safety and wellness of all team members. </li><li>Responsible to ensure process adherence to all applicable quality procedures to assure quality product with priority for patient safety. </li><li>Communicate regularly with plant personnel to maintain high level of morale. </li><li>Perform timely maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and equipment. </li><li>Monitor and adjust machinery to uphold quality standards through routine inspections and proactive problem-solving. </li><li>Identify mechanical issues by observing equipment in operation, and listening for irregularities. </li><li>Perform welding tasks on products as needed to support production schedules and ensure quality standards are met. </li><li>Inspect worn parts and determine dimensional changes using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. </li><li>Responsible for preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery (e.g., presses, motors, pneumatic tools, mills) following manuals, diagrams, and engineering specifications including but not limited to scheduling, performance and documentation of PMs. </li><li>Install, repair, and maintain equipment using established procedures and manufacturer recommendations. </li><li>Conduct visual inspections and testing; dismantle defective equipment and install replacement parts. </li><li>Facility Maintenance support to include </li><li>Ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Environment Protection (DEP) regulations, including monitoring wastewater pH levels and coordinating with consultants as needed. </li><li>Maintain plant electrical systems and support and coordinate panel upgrades. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>4 - 7 years of experience in manufacturing equipment set-up and/or maintenance. </li><li>Welding certified </li><li>Experience in an active production environment. </li><li>HAZWOPER Certification preferred. </li></ul>
