The Angio-Specialist will also be required to take an "on call schedule during non-operational hours of the lab to provide coverage for emergency cases. When assigned the charge role the Angio-Specialist will coordinate the operating schedule and supervise unit activities. In addition, he/she will provide supervision of non-RN personnel.</p> <ul> <li>Assess patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care. </li><li>Provide care for patients pre, intra and post procedures for all cardiac and vascular procedures </li><li>Develop and communicate patient plan of care reflecting patient issues and proposed interventions to achieve desired patient outcome </li><li>Collaborate with patient, family and healthcare team in implementing plan of care </li><li>Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge and/or continuing care. Revise plan of care as needed and appropriately refer for additional services where indicated. </li><li>Provide education as indicated after assessing the learning needs of the patient and family. </li><li>Participate in and support performance improvement and risk management activities. </li><li>Act as preceptor to new staff when requested. </li><li>Responsible for taking on call per department's needs. </li><li>Proficient in the management patients undergoing cardiac, peripheral vascular and Interventional Radiology procedures. </li><li>Proficient in the management of elective and emergency procedures. </li><li>Basic Electrophysiology. </li><li>Competent in the administration of Moderate sedation </li><li>Competent in utilizing the Hemodynamic System for monitoring and documentation purposes. </li><li>Competent in the use of the AVOX, ACT machine and the Balloon Pump. </li><li>Maintain par levels of supplies collaborative with Cardiovascular Technologists. </li><li>Competent in the use of IVUS </li><li>Competent in the use of Pressure Wire (FFR) </li><li>Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. </li><li>Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut. </li><li>BCLS and ACLS required </li><li>Moderate Sedation </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience. </li><li>Maintain a minimum of 6 contact hours annually. </li><li>We are committed to building an inclusive workplace that values diversity and inclusion and reflects the diversity of the community and patients we serve. </li></ul>
