<p>Manages the support, evaluation, and retention of kinship families. Supervises a team of social services caseworkers, case aides, and benefit navigators. Performs all supervisory functions (planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring) to ensure the highest performance of the employees supervised. Ensures compliance with all related federal and state requirements for kinship families.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides support and coaching to the team for the delivery of excellent customer service to community kinship families, non-certified kinship families and potential certified kinship families?</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews, edits, revises, and approves any in-house orientation/training curriculum for kinship families.</p> </li><li> <p>Reads, reviews, and approves home study reports and provides guidance and direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates the program's purpose, needs, and requirements to section supervisors and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Resolves informal complaints and grievances.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in review teams as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises staff through individual meetings, team meetings, problem-solving, coaching, and mentoring as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes performance standards for staff and collects monthly data on unit activities and accomplishments. Provides monthly report to the Prevention Services Manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops agency policies and procedures related to kinship families.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends internal leadership meetings to continuously improve process, philosophy, and practice within the division.?</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates RED (Review, Evaluate, Direct) Teams/Initial Reviews.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides coverage duties for supervisors in the Placement Services and Support Pod as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversight of Icebreaker Program implementation, statistics, and quality improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with community and faith-based agencies to develop new partnerships that benefit Adams County children and families and maintain ongoing and strong connections with well-established partnerships.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversight of Benefit Navigator Program services and supports, statistics, and quality improvement.?</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required. ?</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide leadership to team members utilizing coaching techniques. </p> </li><li> <p>Skill to be organized, manage time, engage problem solving techniques, utilize data and statistics to guide practice.</p> </li><li> <p>Support diversity, equality, and inclusivity (DE & I) within the team, section, division, department, and county. </p> </li><li> <p>Develop practices within the team that support DE & I in the services and support to families and children. </p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of child welfare practices, including the impact of trauma to children placed out of home.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in potentially unsafe situations, effectively manage stress, utilize active listening skills, process/analyze/interpret large amounts of data and family history, and de-escalation techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with and knowledge of State laws/regulations including the Colorado Children's Code, agency policies and procedures, and agency, county, and state letters, including Volume 7 as it pertains to kinship foster home certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of federal laws, regulations, procedures, and requirements regarding the health and welfare of children.</p> </li><li> <p>Skilled in negotiation and able to work towards resolution of differences in an objective manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate Outlook, MS Word, Excel and Power Point programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient with the Trails System and ability to learn other agency systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with and commitment to the Adams County Norms and Values.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in SAFE Home Study Supervisor training and attend SAFE refresher training every 3 years (or as recommended/needed).</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize your personal vehicle to get to appointments in the local community and surrounding areas within Colorado.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: Four (4) years of full time professional social casework experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency in an area appropriate to the position</p> </li><li> <p>Education and Training:</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in one of the human behavioral science fields.</p> </li><li> <p>A Bachelor's of Social work may substitute for 1 year of the required experience.</p> </li><li> <p>An MSW may substitute for 2 years of the required experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Proof of education, (degree or transcripts,) and license (if candidate has received one) are required.</p> </li><li> <p>License or Certificate:</p> </li><li> <p>Must be eligible to become a certified supervisor through the State Child Welfare Academy or already be certified.</p> </li><li> <p>SAFE Supervisor Certification and maintenance of certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Possession of a Colorado Driver's License and proof of automotive insurance. </p> </li><li> <p>Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.</p> </li><li> <p>Other: Must utilize a personal vehicle to get to many appointments in the local community and surrounding areas within Colorado.</p> </li></ul> <p>Ability to obtain, maintain, and ensure continued access to State and County systems in strict compliance with all applicable county and state regulations, policies, and user agreements.</p>
